Episode Summary
Shen Mingzhu grieves the loss of her husband while dealing with a high-risk pregnancy and a media firestorm. A Rude Doctor and a Shocking Diagnosis
Shen Mingzhu is not doing well. She’s still completely wrecked over Feng Jianqi’s death. She goes to the hospital for a prenatal check-up. She’s worried all the stress and her messed-up sleep schedule are bad for the baby. While she's there, she can't stop thinking about him. She even sends a text to his old number.
His mom, He Lihua, has his phone. She replies. That’s when it finally hits Mingzhu. He is really, truly gone. The realization just crushes her.
Then things get weirder. She sees a male OB-GYN in the hallway. He's on the phone, absolutely screaming at his wife for cheating on him. Mingzhu just rolls her eyes at the drama. Of course, you know what happens next. He turns out to be her doctor. His name is Li Jingzhe.
She explains her situation. He does the check-up and gives her some rough news. She has an angular pregnancy. This is a risky condition. He tells her she has to lie on her right side to try and fix it. If that doesn't work, she might have to terminate the pregnancy.
The Reporters Strike Again
Just as Mingzhu is processing this, reporters burst into the exam room. They shove cameras in her face. They demand she talk about being adopted. She completely panics.
This is where Dr. Li Jingzhe redeems himself a little. He physically shoves the reporters out of his office. He yells at hospital security to keep them away. Mingzhu is genuinely grateful. She even gives him some advice. She tells him to stay strong about his wife’s affair.
Later, He Lihua rushes to the hospital. She hears about the angular pregnancy but brushes it off. She says their family has "good genes" so the baby will be fine. Then she gives Mingzhu Jianqi's phone. She also asks Mingzhu to start calling her "Mom." Mingzhu just can't do it. She makes an excuse and bolts.

Zhixia Makes a Questionable Choice
Xu Zhixia has her own stuff going on. She finishes a big promotional article for Rufeng Wine. She and her assistant, Mao Dou, go to meet the client, Mr. Lu. He loves the article. He offers her a glass of the wine to celebrate.
Mao Dou quickly jumps in. He explains that Zhixia is pregnant and can't drink. Mr. Lu is cool about it. But then he casually mentions his own mother drank while she was pregnant with him. So, to prove her "sincerity," Zhixia picks up the glass. She drinks the entire thing. It was a really uncomfortable moment.
A Secret Memorial for Grandma
It’s the 21st day since the family's grandmother passed away. Zhixia and her husband, Zhang Hao, go to her parents' house. They plan to burn paper offerings for the memorial. Her dad, Xu Dacheng, is still furious with his late mother-in-law. He blames her for giving away his other daughter years ago. He refuses to participate in any memorial for her.
The mom, Yu Jingxiang, is heartbroken. She secretly calls her siblings to arrange a meeting spot for the memorial. The dad knows what's happening, though. He tells Zhang Hao he's going fishing for the day. He's doing it on purpose to give them time to go without him.
The next day, the family goes to the memorial site. Yu Jingxiang's brothers and sisters are already there. Everyone pays their respects. Yu Jingxiang prays to her mother's spirit. She begs for a dream to tell her where her lost daughter, Xu Zhilu, is.
The Viral Video That Changes Everything
The Pieces Finally Click for Zhixia
Remember Dr. Li kicking the reporters out of Mingzhu's room? Someone filmed it. The video goes completely viral. Mingzhu's friend Ni Dani shows it to her. It already has over 100,000 shares.
Xu Zhixia sees the video, too. The reporters were shouting questions at Mingzhu about her adoption. They mentioned her birth details. Zhixia freezes. She realizes Mingzhu's birth information is an exact match for her long-lost sister, Xu Zhilu. Her mom, Yu Jingxiang, hears this. She is now 100 percent convinced. Shen Mingzhu is her daughter.
Mingzhu Becomes a Public Target
The video backfires horribly. People on the internet find Mingzhu's home address. A mob of strangers shows up. They surround her house, filming her and shouting questions. She's terrified to even open her door.
He Lihua sees what’s happening online. She and her husband worry the stress will harm the baby. They rush over to get Mingzhu. They offer to let her stay with them for a while. Mingzhu agrees. Her adoptive parents help her sneak out the back door.
He Lihua takes her to the apartment across the hall. It was supposed to be Mingzhu and Jianqi's marital home. Inside, Mingzhu pushes all the new bedding off the bed. She lies down on the bare mattress. She remembers lying there with Jianqi, talking about their future, and just starts crying.
Zhixia's Cautious Plan
An Investigation and a Hose to the Face
Zhixia and Zhang Hao try to visit Mingzhu's house. They just want to talk. But they run into the mob of online trolls. Mingzhu's adoptive brother, Shen Minghui, sees them. He assumes they are part of the mob. He grabs a hose and sprays them with water until they leave.
So they try a different approach. They go to the small restaurant run by Mingzhu's adoptive parents. They see right away that Shen Shengli and Yue Xiue are kind, decent people. The walls are covered with Mingzhu's school awards. There's even a piano in the corner. Zhixia feels a huge sense of relief. Her sister had a good, loving home.
While Zhang Hao orders food, Zhixia slips out. She goes to a shop next door. She casually asks the owner about the family. The owner tells her everything. She confirms the Shens adopted Mingzhu from Yujia Village. She also mentions that Mingzhu's husband just recently passed away.
The Slow Approach to a Reunion
Zhixia now has all the proof she needs. She goes straight to her parents. Xu Dacheng and Yu Jingxiang want to run to Mingzhu immediately for a big reunion.
Zhixia tells them to stop and think. This is a delicate situation. Mingzhu is grieving her husband. She's pregnant with a complicated pregnancy. And she's being harassed by the entire internet. Showing up on her doorstep is a terrible idea.
Zhixia comes up with a better plan. She's also pregnant, so she'll switch hospitals. She'll start going to the same one as Mingzhu for her prenatal care. This way, she can approach Mingzhu slowly. She wants to find out if Mingzhu even wants to know her birth family before they ambush her. Her parents agree it's the only smart move.
