Things start off messy this week. We open at a dinner table that seems fine until the rice wine kicks in. Gun Dayue and Ma Yongbing, who apparently can’t sit in a room together without arguing, start going at it. Their wives, Ye Mei and Luo Xiaolin, try to play peacekeeper. It works for a minute.
Then Luo Xiaolin gets a little too honest with the alcohol in her system. She demands that Gun Yueliang start popping out babies immediately after the wedding. She wants two kids in three years. This sets Ye Mei off. The men stop fighting just in time to watch their wives start a war.
The Kiss Heard 'Round the Village
The Shanghai crew gets back to town. The promotion was a hit. Xu Baiyun is so hyped about the success that she grabs Ma Qinghao and plants several kisses on him. It’s clearly excitement, but it looks bad. Qinghao is terrified.
Guifu Sao sees the whole thing. She tries to keep it quiet, but that doesn't last. She tells Tian Yanzi. Tian Yanzi is the village equivalent of a megaphone. Within hours, everyone knows.
Ma Yongbing hears the gossip and panics. He thinks his son just ruined the family’s reputation and their shot at grandkids. He drags Qinghao home and yells at him. Qinghao tries to explain that Xu Baiyun grew up abroad and it’s just a "Western greeting." Yongbing doesn't care about geography. He just cries about his future grandchildren.
Yueliang Keeps Her Cool
While the men are losing their minds, Gun Yueliang is chilling with Wu Enyun. They are prepping for the "Village Show." Wu Enyun hands over a "Hundred Treasure Scroll," a super rare embroidery piece. Yueliang promises to mix new techniques into the old style.
She eventually hears the rumor about the kiss. She doesn't scream. She doesn't cry. She actually laughs. She trusts Qinghao completely. She comforts him, and he promises to fix his dad's attitude.
Yueliang goes to Ma Yongbing herself. She talks him down. The old man calms down but threatens to break Qinghao’s legs if he ever actually cheats. Crisis averted. Gun Changpu and Wu Aicao watch this play out and finally relax.
Chess and Legal Threats
The dads, Gun Dayue and Ma Yongbing, meet up by the river for chess. They actually talk sense for once. Dayue points out that Ye Mei is still furious about the baby pressure. Yongbing defends the desire for grandkids but admits they need to handle their wives before any wedding happens. They agree to a truce to smooth things over.
Qinghao tries to talk to Xu Baiyun about the village gossip. He asks her to be more careful. She doubles down. She says she did nothing wrong and threatens to sue the villagers for slander. Qinghao is annoyed. He throws a tantrum and threatens to quit the Via Ferrata project.
Thankfully, Wu Aicao and Gun Changpu talk him off the ledge. He agrees to stay. The episode wraps up with the runway built for the show. They decide to invite Grandma Wu to walk the runway, and Long Fengbi agrees to escort her.
