Episode Summary
In this episode, Wu Aicao gets permission from his wife to raise cattle again after a philosophical moment. Ma Qinghao's plan to start a B&B is rejected by his parents, and he crashes Gun Yueliang's disastrous blind date, which might have been a setup by her father.

Coffee and Cow Manure
Ma Qinghao sees Wu Aicao is still down in the dumps. So he takes him to a fancy B&B to get his mind off things. While they're there, Wu Aicao has a revelation over a cup of coffee. He tells Ma Qinghao that marriage is like coffee. It can't be all bitter or all sweet. One person has to be the sugar cube. The other has to be the coffee grounds. You have to stir them together to get something good. Ma Qinghao is baffled by this sudden wisdom. Wu Aicao then gives him some dating advice. He says if you want to pick a beautiful flower, you have to be willing to be the manure first.
Back at the embroidery workshop, Longfeng Bi is still complaining. She tells everyone about Wu Aicao painting a local cow to look like a fancy import. But Ma Xiumei defends him. She says a guy as devoted as Wu Aicao is a rare find. Ma Xiumei then turns to Gun Yueliang. She invites her to join the embroidery factory. She says they need someone with her skills. Gun Yueliang tells her she needs some time to think it over.
The B&B Dream Hits a Wall
Ma Qinghao shows his dad, Ma Yongbing, pictures of the high-end B&B. His dad looks at their own old house and feels it can't compare. Ma Qinghao sees potential, though. He thinks their old place has its own charm. He says it would take over a million to renovate it into a proper B&B. Then he asks his parents to invest. Ma Yongbing just laughs and flat-out refuses. He says when it comes to business, money always ruins family.
Ma Qinghao tries his mom next. He begs Luo Xiaolin for the money. But she's not budging either. She tells him that money is saved for his wedding. She says nobody is touching it.
A Second Chance and a Terrible Date
Wu Aicao Gets a Green Light
Wu Aicao comes home ready to make amends. He cooks a huge dinner for Longfeng Bi with all her favorite dishes. After they've had some drinks, he works up the courage to ask. He wants to get back into the cattle business. He promises he'll raise fat, healthy calves. Wu Aicao expects a fight. But Longfeng Bi actually agrees. She admits she has been too bossy. She gives him her blessing to go to the market and pick out a new calf.
At the same time, Gun Yueliang's sister, Gun Changpu, comes to see her. She gently tells her that the family has arranged a blind date. Gun Yueliang agrees to meet the guy the next day.
The Worst Blind Date Ever
The next day, the town market is packed. Wu Aicao is there, excited to look for a calf. He happens to spot Gun Yueliang. He quickly realizes she's on a blind date. Her match is a guy named Li Jinbao, the self-proclaimed "Pepper King" from Yelang Village. The guy is average-looking, older, and not even that rich. But he's incredibly arrogant. He claims it's love at first sight, but it's obvious he's just after her looks. He immediately starts talking about marriage, spitting everywhere as he talks. Gun Yueliang looks extremely uncomfortable.
Wu Aicao watches this disaster from a distance. He gets on the phone with Ma Qinghao. He tells him to get to the market immediately to save his future wife. Just as Gun Yueliang tries to leave, Li Jinbao grabs her wrist. He insists on walking her home. Ma Qinghao arrives at that exact moment. He sees a strange man grabbing Gun Yueliang and assumes the worst. He runs up and kicks Li Jinbao.
The Aftermath
A Strategic Set-Up?
They clear up the misunderstanding, but Ma Qinghao still can't stand the guy. Gun Yueliang makes him pay Li Jinbao for his ruined clothes. Even after all that, Li Jinbao tries to sell them his peppercorns. When they ignore him, he mutters that they have no class.
Later, Ma Qinghao asks Wu Aicao what that was all about. Wu Aicao explains that Gun Yueliang has been on a few failed blind dates before. He has a theory. He thinks her dad, Gun Dayue, set up this terrible date on purpose. The goal was to make Ma Qinghao see the competition and back off.
