So, Wu Aicao is still stressing about his cattle. He goes to Ma Qinghao looking for some genius idea. Instead, he gets put to work cleaning up an old house. Classic. While they're taking a break, Ma Qinghao finally gives him some real advice. He tells Wu Aicao to go learn from You Jianghe, who is apparently the local cattle whisperer. The plan is to spy on his methods. Then, he should go back and build a better, more comfortable barn for his own cows. Wu Aicao is a bit hesitant at first. But Ma Qinghao lays out the logic, and you can see the gears turning. He starts to think this plan might actually work.
Old Flames and New Machines
Gun Yueliang's Busy Day
Gun Yueliang has her own stuff going on. Ma Xiumei wants her to lead a team of embroiderers at a big exhibition. The goal is to get their names out there. Gun Yueliang agrees right away. Ma Xiumei also shows her some new equipment at the factory. It's designed to make the embroidery process faster. Gun Yueliang takes a close look at the products coming off the line. She notes that the stitches don't have the same handmade feel. But the speed and consistency are impressive. She admits it's a good blend of traditional craft and modern technology.
An Unwanted Suitor Returns
Just as Gun Yueliang gets home, her mom calls. It turns out that Li Jinbao guy, the self-proclaimed "Pepper King," is still trying to win her over. He wants to meet again. Gun Yueliang just agrees to it on the phone. She sounds like she's agreeing to pull weeds from the garden. You can tell she's only doing it to make her mom happy.

A Perfect Match for Ma Qinghao?
Over at Ma Qinghao's house, a matchmaker named Liu Caie is laying it on thick. She's going on and on about what a great catch Ma Qinghao is. He's handsome. He's successful. Then she drops the real reason she's there. She wants to set him up with Lei Tiantian. Lei Tiantian is the daughter of a very wealthy sheep farmer. Liu Caie says the girl is beautiful and rich. Apparently, tons of guys have tried to get a date with her and failed. But she saw a picture of Ma Qinghao and immediately agreed to meet.
Jealousy Is a Great Motivator
Ma Qinghao is hiding in another room, completely uninterested. He scoffs at the whole idea of a blind date. His parents can't convince him. But then he overhears the news. Gun Yueliang is going to meet with Li Jinbao. That flips a switch. The lazy, uninterested guy is suddenly gone. He grabs Lei Tiantian's photo and starts praising her looks. He agrees to the date and even sets the location himself at the tent hotel.
Meanwhile, Wu Aicao tells his wife, Longfeng Bi, about Ma Qinghao's cattle plan. For once, she doesn't shoot him down. She thinks every part of the idea makes sense and gives him her full support.
The Most Awkward Double Date Ever
An Uncomfortable Car Ride
The next morning, Gun Yueliang is waiting by the road for the matchmaker to pick her up. The car pulls up, the door opens, and Ma Qinghao is sitting inside. You could feel the tension through the screen. She has no choice but to get in. Of course, Tian Yanzi sees the whole thing. She immediately whips out her phone. The village WeChat group explodes with gossip.
Four's a Crowd
At the hotel, Li Jinbao and Lei Tiantian are waiting on the rooftop. We learn they already know each other. Then Liu Caie shows up with both Ma Qinghao and Gun Yueliang in tow. What was supposed to be two separate blind dates turns into one chaotic four-person disaster. Ma Qinghao spends his time trying to get dirt on Li Jinbao from Lei Tiantian. Li Jinbao tries to figure out what the deal is between Gun Yueliang and Ma Qinghao. He also tells his whole rags-to-riches story. I have to admit, his determination actually impresses Gun Yueliang a little.
Why the Cattle Mean So Much
In a much quieter scene, Wu Aicao goes to visit the expert, You Jianghe. He opens up about why he's so passionate about raising cattle. He tells a story from his childhood about an old family ox. The animal was incredibly smart and worked hard, pulling plows and carts without ever making a mistake. That one ox basically supported his entire family. In their eyes, the ox was a savior. Before his mother died, she held his hand and made him promise their family would never eat beef. They owed the animals too much. Wu Aicao has carried that promise with him his whole life. It explains why his connection to cattle is so deep.
Trouble Is Brewing
Gun Changpu hears the gossip from Tian Yanzi. He learns his sister got into a car with Ma Qinghao. He is furious. He calls Wu Aicao immediately, demanding to know where Ma Qinghao went. Wu Aicao can tell from his tone that this is serious. He worries Gun Changpu is going to start a fight. So he runs to meet up with him. Then he makes an urgent call to Ma Qinghao, telling him to get back to the village right away.
