Episode Summary
Yan Tuo saves a critically injured Nie Jiuluo and hides her at Uncle Changxi's place after a secret surgery. He cleans up the crime scene at the pier and kills a surviving witness. Meanwhile, Lin Ling discovers mysterious needle marks on her arm, and Lin Xirou violently pushes her toward an arranged marriage for sinister medical reasons.

A Close Call and a Bloody Surgery
Yan Tuo finally steps up when it counts. He snatches Nie Jiuluo away from the Di Xiao right before things go fatal. She is in rough shape. The wound is a serious puncture. She is barely holding on. She starts hearing her dead parents calling out to her. That is never a good sign. Yan Tuo wastes no time. He rushes her straight to Lu Xian’s clinic.
The doctor is stunned. He can’t believe she is still breathing with an injury like that. We get a moment of hesitation next. Yan Tuo is too polite to cut her clothes off to treat the wound. Nie Jiuluo has to do it herself. The sight of her bloody upper body is hard to watch. Yan Tuo can’t handle looking at it. He busies himself making a recovery soup while Lu Xian operates. The surgery works. Yan Tuo is serious about security though. He warns Lu Xian to keep his mouth shut. Lin Xirou cannot find out about this.
Panic at the Base and Creepy Milk
Xing Shen and his crew are stuck waiting at the hotel. The Di Xiao never showed up. Nie Jiuluo has vanished too. The group loses their morale. They retreat to their base to argue about their next move. Xing Shen is a wreck. He is terrified for Nie Jiuluo’s safety. He doesn't know her phone is sitting abandoned on the pier.
Things are getting weird at the Lin house. Fourth Sister brings Lin Ling her nightly glass of milk. Lin Ling knows the routine. She knows there are sedatives in there. She drinks it anyway and passes out. She wakes up later from a nightmare. She heads to the bathroom and notices something disturbing. There is a fresh needle puncture on her arm. Her heart sinks.
Dumplings and Body Disposal
Yan Tuo moves Nie Jiuluo to a safer location. He takes her to Uncle Changxi’s shop. He even gets her some dumplings. He wipes her hands with a wet wipe. It is a very tender moment. Uncle Changxi spots the chemistry immediately. He shuts down the shop and sets them up with bedding. Yan Tuo leaves medication instructions and heads back out. He has a mess to clean up.
Yan Tuo returns to the pier to deal with the Di Xiao corpses. One of them isn't quite dead yet. The creature wakes up and recognizes him. It realizes Lin Xirou’s son is working with the hunters. It knows Lin Xirou is in trouble. Yan Tuo doesn't hesitate. He finishes the job. He scrubs the blood and pushes the car with the bodies into the ocean.
Morning Soups and Family Secrets
Uncle Changxi serves Nie Jiuluo the special soup the next morning. She realizes Yan Tuo arranged all of this for her. She is genuinely touched.
The mood is much darker back at the Lin estate. Lin Xirou is trying to force a marriage between Lin Ling and Lu Xian. Lin Ling hates the idea. She talks back and gets a hard slap across the face. We learn the dark truth here. Lin Xirou ran medical tests on her. Lin Ling is a perfect physical match for whatever twisted plan Xirou has. Yan Tuo watches this happen. He knows the pain Lin Ling is in. He feels guilty. He also feels completely powerless to change it.
