Episode Summary
Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo share an awkward night together while hiding the captured Di Xiao, Chen Fu, in the attic. Xing Shen finds new clues about Nanshan. The pair narrowly stops Feng Mi from identifying Nie Jiuluo on security footage by cutting the power and stealing the evidence. Following a lead from Chen Fu's phone, they depart for Xu Annie's hometown in Heyang.

Forced Proximity and Awkward Naps
Yan Tuo carries the injured Nie Jiuluo upstairs. She is blushing the whole time. Uncle Changxi sees an opportunity here. He acts like he is too old and tired to take care of a patient at night. He practically pushes Yan Tuo to stay over. It works. Yan Tuo stays to look after her.
The vibe is incredibly awkward. Yan Tuo helps her to the bathroom after a shower. Both of their hearts are pounding. They can barely make eye contact. Bedtime doesn't help. Yan Tuo tosses and turns on a creaky mobile bed. The loud "clang" of the cot finally breaks the ice. Nie Jiuluo bursts out laughing. It is a nice break from the danger.
Secrets in the Cauldron
Xing Shen is busy elsewhere. He fiddles with a hidden compartment on a cauldron. He triggers a mechanism and finds detailed records about Nanshan. This is a big discovery. He sits down with Ma Hanzi to study the documents. They need more clues.
The Prisoner in the Attic
Uncle Changxi wakes up grumpy. Someone stole the dumplings he made last night. He has no idea the thief is right under his nose. It was Chen Fu. He is the Di Xiao that Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo captured.
Nie Jiuluo updates Xing Shen on the situation. She tells him Yan Tuo saved her. She starts interrogating Chen Fu. She wants to know about the "blood sacs." Chen Fu is stubborn. He mocks Yan Tuo for chasing women. He says he would rather bite off his tongue than betray the Di Xiao secrets. He is also secretly trying to loosen his ropes while she talks.
Close Calls with the Villains
Yan Tuo goes looking for Lin Ling with some snacks. He finds Xiong Hei in the monitoring room instead. Lin Xirou has Xiong Hei hunting for the missing Chen Fu. The heat is turning up.
Feng Mi brings in surveillance footage. It shows a blue car trailing Chen Fu. Yan Tuo stays cool. He knows that blue car is already destroyed at the bottom of the sea. But Feng Mi doesn't stop there. She goes to a car rental company. She puts on a fake sob story about a cheating husband to get access to their security tapes.
Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo rush to the rental place. They are seconds away from being caught. Feng Mi is about to see Nie Jiuluo on the screen. They cut the power to the building just in time. Feng Mi storms out to find the cause. Yan Tuo sneaks in and steals the memory card.
The Road to Heyang
They check Chen Fu's phone. A calendar entry notes that today is a special day. It points to Xu Annie's hometown. They have to go check it out.
Yan Tuo covers his tracks. He tells Lin Xirou he has a business trip to Heyang to meet a "President Meng." Nie Jiuluo secures the house. She ties Chen Fu up in the attic. She lies to Uncle Changxi. She says she stored dangerous chemical dyes up there. He promises not to go up. With the home front safe, Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo head to Heyang for answers.
