Episode Summary
Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo arrive in Heyang to investigate Xu Annie, sharing a single hotel room where they bond over Yan Tuo's drunkenness. They spot a stalker tailing Annie and intervene before he can attack her. Upon interrogation, the attacker reveals Annie's own boyfriend hired him to assault her. Meanwhile, Lin Xirou becomes suspicious of Yan Tuo's activities and sends enforcers to Heyang while demanding answers about the attack on Annie.

The Setup in Heyang
Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo touch down in Heyang. They have work to do. Xu Annie is performing by the sea, so that's their target. Yan Tuo needs to keep Lin Xirou off his back. He sets up a fake meeting with "President Meng" for the next day to create an alibi.
Nie Jiuluo takes a more direct approach. She poses as an event planner and tries to book Annie for a gig. Annie turns it down because she already has plans. Then, Annie notices the injury on Nie Jiuluo’s arm. Nie thinks fast. She lies and says a drunk boyfriend did it. Annie tries to comfort her. She mentions her own boyfriend is super considerate. This rings alarm bells for Nie Jiuluo. She realizes Annie’s boyfriend, Chen Fu, is hiding his true identity.
The One-Room Trope
They head to a hotel to check in. Of course, there is only one room left. They take it. Afterward, they grab dinner at a local spot. A young boy brings out their food with his little sister in tow. The kid is well-behaved. This hits Yan Tuo hard. He remembers his own sister. The mood shifts.
Yan Tuo starts drinking. He drinks a lot. He complains the alcohol is fake and eventually throws up. Back at the hotel, he passes out and snores loudly. Nie Jiuluo watches him sleep. She remembers Lu Jie telling her to find a boyfriend. She actually smiles at his clumsy state.
Close Calls and Creepers
The next morning is chaotic. President Meng tries to change the meeting time. He can’t reach Yan Tuo. Zhai Hao calls Xiong Hei. Lin Xirou is suspicious. She sends Xiong Hei to Heyang to check things out.
Nie Jiuluo stakes out the pier early. Annie waves at her. Lin Xirou finally gets Yan Tuo on the phone. He lies and says the deal is done. Lin Xirou calls his bluff. He pivots. He claims he got drunk meeting a netizen instead. It’s a weak excuse, but it buys time.
Yan Tuo rushes to the pier to meet Nie Jiuluo. She points out a problem. A man is lurking nearby, taking photos of Annie. Yan Tuo switches into acting mode. He pretends to be a tourist. He walks up to the creeper and asks for a photo. He gets close enough to smell something specific coming from the guy's bag. It smells like ether.
The Takeout and the Trap
Yan Tuo feels bad that Nie Jiuluo is running around so much. He orders delivery for her. He is careful about the menu. They are "hunters." They can’t eat spicy or stimulating food. He picks light dishes. It’s a small, thoughtful gesture.
Annie finishes work and walks home. The guy from the pier follows her. She senses someone behind her. She panics. Her heart races. She sprints the rest of the way and locks herself inside.
The stalker doesn't give up. He prepares to break in. Yan Tuo and Nie Jiuluo step in just in time. They block his path. They corner him and demand answers. The guy cracks. He admits Annie’s boyfriend hired him. The job was to drug Annie with ether and assault her. Yan Tuo is furious. He can’t understand why a boyfriend would do that.
Lin Xirou's Rage
Back at headquarters, Lin Xirou forces Lin Ling to hang out with Lu Xian. It’s awkward. They make small talk in a restaurant. Then, Lin Xirou explodes. She finds out about the situation with Annie. She screams at Xiong Hei. She demands he find the person pulling the strings. She wants everything investigated immediately.
