Episode Summary
Yan Tuo stages a violent breakdown to create chaos, allowing Lin Ling and Lu Xian to execute a distraction plan. While the Nanshan hunters successfully capture multiple Di Xiao and Lin Xirou harvests a powerful substance from a cave, Nie Jiuluo infiltrates the house. She knocks out the guards and Lu Xian to stage a kidnapping, successfully rescuing Lin Ling. Lin Xirou returns to find her house in shambles and realizes something is wrong.

Yan Tuo Hits Rock Bottom
Things are getting ugly for Yan Tuo. He is on a total hunger strike. He refuses to eat or drink. The guy looks like a wreck. Unopened meal boxes are piling up in the corner of his room like a landfill. He sits there for days letting the anger build up inside him. Finally, he snaps.
He goes berserk. He smashes his fists against the glass with zero regard for his own safety. The noise shatters the silence of the house. It freaks everyone out. The guards turn pale and panic. They scramble to tell Lin Xirou about the meltdown.
Lin Ling sees her opening. She signals Lu Xian while the chaos unfolds. The tension in the house is thick.
Mother of the Year
Xiong Hei rushes in with the bad news. He tells Lin Xirou that Yan Tuo is self-harming and the situation is critical. You would expect a mother to worry. Not her. She stays completely flat. She barely reacts. Her instructions are simple. As long as Yan Tuo is breathing, she doesn't care. His pain means nothing to her. She walks out the door to handle her business.
The Distraction Play
Yan Tuo hears music from a car outside. It’s Lu Xian. He uses a medicine delivery as an excuse to get in the door. He is actually there for Lin Ling. Lin Ling plays her part perfectly. She complains about being bored. She begs Fourth Sister to let Lu Xian stay and hang out.
Lu Xian makes himself at home. He sits at the table and eats. He rambles about his failed attempts at making hand-brewed coffee. He calls it too much hassle. Lin Ling changes the subject to bartending. She claims it is an art form. She offers to make him a special drink.
Fourth Sister is suspicious. She shadows Lin Ling closely. Lin Ling uses the time to chat about Lu Xian. She admits she used to hate him. Now she thinks he is decent. She thanks her "Aunt Lin" for the setup. Then she makes her move. She uses an ice pick to cut her own hand. It looks like an accident.
Hunting Season
The Nanshan hunters are busy too. They use disguises to get close to the Di Xiao. They are gathering intel.
Lin Xirou arrives at a hidden cave. She uses a mechanism to pull a chain up from the depths. A mysterious object surfaces. It is "Yu Wang meat." This stuff is nasty but powerful. It can devour matter. Lin Xirou collects the scattered pieces. She plans to use this flesh to resurrect a Di Xiao and boost its power.
The hunters make their move. Xing Shen and Datou team up. They take down one Di Xiao. Que Cha and Yu Rong handle another one. They have a massive fight. They win and capture the target.
The Great Escape
Back at the house, the plan kicks into high gear. Lin Ling fakes a faint. The room erupts into chaos. Lu Xian yells at Fourth Sister to get antiseptic from the back room. She runs to get it. Nie Jiuluo is waiting in the shadows. She knocks Fourth Sister out cold.
Lu Xian hands his car keys to Nie Jiuluo. He tells her to go. Nie Jiuluo knocks Lu Xian out too. It has to look convincing. Lin Ling leaves her necklace behind. She wants it to look like a kidnapping. They flee the scene. They get a message that Xing Shen succeeded. They can finally breathe.
Fourth Sister wakes up later. She calls Lin Xirou and reports the mess. Nie Jiuluo drops the injured Lin Ling off with Uncle Changxi. He jokes that he always ends up babysitting girls injured because of Yan Tuo.
The Nanshan hunters now have four Di Xiao captives. They lock them up at the base. They are waiting for Lin Xirou to walk into their trap. Lin Xirou returns home. She sees Lu Xian unconscious on the floor. She suspects foul play immediately.
