Uncle Changxi finally sits down to talk. He looks serious. He lays out the grim details about Li Ergou to Nie Jiuluo and Lin Ling. It turns out Li Ergou stole money years ago. He panicked and ran straight into the mine to hide. The workers were frantic. They searched the mountains immediately. But the terrain is a nightmare. The trees are thick and the paths wind endlessly. They never found a trace of him.
The Nanny Who Wouldn't Stay Dead
The story gets weirder with Li Shuangxiu. She is Li Ergou's cousin. She came looking for him but ended up working as a nanny for Yan Tuo’s family. Things went south fast. Yan Tuo’s mother, Lin Xirou, got into a massive fight with her. Xirou pushed her. Shuangxiu hit her head and died in the bathtub. Or so Xirou thought.
Xirou was terrified. She begged her husband, Yan Dashan, and Changxi for help. Dashan disposed of the body in secret. But here is the twist. Shuangxiu showed up later. She was alive. She was even around the child. Xirou nearly lost her mind. She wanted to flee the area to protect her kid. Changxi later heard that this "resurrected" Shuangxiu even blackmailed Dashan for his inheritance.
Chaos at the Dumpling Shop
Xiong Hei and his goons decide to crash the party. They storm into Changxi’s dumpling shop ready to tear the place apart. Yu Rong is downstairs and engages them immediately. Nie Jiuluo sees the danger. She tells Changxi to get Lin Ling out of there. Then she rushes down to help.
Yu Rong struggles at first. Xiong Hei came prepared. He plugged his ears to block the sonic attack of her whip. Yu Rong spots the trick. She knocks the plugs out. The whip cracks and she gains the upper hand. Nie Jiuluo handles the other Di Xiao minions. They start to retreat. Then Xing Shen shows up. His arrival terrifies Xiong Hei’s crew. They scramble to escape.
Regrouping and Connecting Dots
Changxi comes downstairs. He sees the wrecked shop. He doesn't ask questions. He knows what is happening. Nie Jiuluo decides the shop is burned. It is not safe. She takes Changxi and Lin Ling back to her place. Lu Jie greets them and jokes about mistaking Changxi for a delivery driver before. Back at the villain's HQ, Lin Xirou is furious. She punishes Xiong Hei severely for his failure.
Yu Rong sits down to think. She is confused. She works through the logic. Li Ergou was Lin Xirou’s first "blood bag." That implies a genetic link. Lin Ling must be related to him. Nie Jiuluo remembers something important. Lin Ling looked shocked when she saw Li Ergou’s photo earlier. The pieces fit. Li Ergou is actually Lin Ling’s long-lost brother.
The Infiltration
Datou and his partner make their move. They dress up as safety inspectors. They walk right toward the Roushan Mining Bureau. The staff looks suspicious. They start to ask questions. Datou doesn't waste time talking. He knocks the guy out cold.
Yu Rong and Nie Jiuluo head into the mines themselves. They find an abandoned building. Inside, they spot an old, yellowed photo. It shows a young Yan Tuo with his parents. Yu Rong picks the lock on a gate. They walk into the tunnel. They start the elevator and descend deep underground. The vibe changes. The darkness feels heavy and dangerous. They sense a threat. They both draw their weapons. Nie Jiuluo readies her Feng Dao. Yu Rong grips her whip. They are ready for whatever is waiting in the dark.
