Gear Up and Move Out
The Nanshan hunter base is buzzing. Everyone is prepping to catch some Di Xiao. Yan Tuo stands around looking useless. He doesn't know what to do with himself. Xing Shen notices the dead weight. He orders Yu Rong to toss Yan Tuo a tranquilizer gun. At least now he looks the part. The group heads to the Black and White Stream. They disguise themselves as a mountain patrol. It’s a smart play. But nature has other plans. A landslide cuts off the road. Splitting up is too risky. They have to take the long way around. Evening hits. Xing Shen spots signs of activity. He calls for a break to save energy.
Walking in Circles
Datou, Nie Jiuluo, and Yan Tuo take point. They scout ahead and mark the trail. Nie Jiuluo gets a bad vibe. She feels eyes on her. It’s unsettling. They keep walking but end up right back where they started. It’s a loop. Nie Jiuluo sees a fire ahead. It’s their own camp. They are stuck in a "ghost wall" trap. She recalls the old texts. The ancestors set up puzzles to stop the Di Xiao. She looks for the key. She finds copper mirrors positioned on the ground and trees. She jams the Feng Dao blade into a statue. It works. Moonlight hits the mirrors. The reflection lights up the path to the village.
Cave Tests and Nightmares
Xing Shen leads the charge. He clears the way. But rocks fall again. Another landslide blocks them. They detour into a cave for shelter. Yu Rong gets bored. She wants to run an experiment. She wants to see how the Di Xiao reacts to the special blood. She drags Nie Jiuluo over to the prisoner. The creature is chained up. It looks terrified. It knows that blood is bad news. Later, Nie Jiuluo tries to sleep. It doesn't go well. She dreams she is trapped in a sinking car. The water rises. She screams. Yan Tuo wakes her up. He talks her down and calms her nerves.
Into the Abyss
They stand at the edge of a massive pit. The walls are covered in strange markings. It looks like a story. Yan Tuo tries to read it. Nie Jiuluo explains. It is a star map carved by Nanshan hunters a thousand years ago. It holds the history. She doesn't hesitate. She grabs a climbing rope. She descends into the darkness. She is going to find the truth at the bottom.
