We open at Li Daoqi's funeral. It is a grim scene. Fu Yudong stares at the photos on the big screen. He can barely process that this is real. The atmosphere is suffocating. He steps out to the corridor to breathe. His father joins him. They have a tough conversation. Fu Yudong asks about the decision to stop his mother’s treatment. His father admits it tore him apart. He had no other choice.

Guilt is eating Fu Yudong alive. He keeps thinking about that rooftop. He believes he made a mistake by leaving. If he had stayed, Li Daoqi might still be alive. He carries that weight on his shoulders.

Corporate Greed vs. Loyalty

Fu Yudong is done with the company. He packs up to leave. Xing Kai shows up. He isn't there to offer condolences. He is terrified Fu Yudong will bolt and leave him with the massive debt. He wants Fu Yudong to share the financial burden.

Breaking the Chains

Boss Chang and Zhang Ran watch Xing Kai’s disaster unfold. Boss Chang tries to spin it. She points to Xing Kai’s shamelessness as a reason Zhang Ran should stick with her agency. Zhang Ran isn't buying it. She wants to terminate her contract.

Justice and a Clean Slate

Karma finally hits Xing Kai. The authorities investigate him. They find evidence of false marketing and tax evasion. Police arrest him. Giant Wave Network collapses completely.

Fu Yudong and Zhang Ran are back to zero. They have no money and no fame. But they have each other. Fu Yudong drives her to her parents' house on his motorcycle. They reflect on the craziness of the past few months. Zhang Ran wanted to be a top streamer. Instead, she became a joke and lived a lie. Fu Yudong admits he turned into a fake marketing shill. They agree to stop the act. They promise to support each other and live honestly from now on.

A Happy Ending for the Side Crew

Lu Xinying is closing up the Malatang shop. She counts the day's cash. Ge Kaiyang drops by with his dog. She cooks him a bowl of soup. They sit and chat. The vibe is easy.
