Spoiler Alert
Road Trips and Bone Crushes
The King really doesn't want to go to Xichuan. He tries everything to get out of it. He gives Su Rang a long, heartfelt speech about how he’ll just be a distraction. It doesn’t work. Su Rang has made up his mind. He drags the King along anyway.
Meanwhile, we get some weirdly romantic medical drama. Tuoba Ruo tracks down a specific set of human bones. She hands them over to Fu Sheng so he can study them and figure out how to fix Gu Tian’s injuries. Fu Sheng is a mess of gratitude. He’s crying. He grabs her hand. Tuoba Ruo turns bright red. She wants to just give him the bones outright, but she can’t make that call alone.
Gu Tian decides to stir the pot. He finds Wen Yu and paints a vivid picture of Fu Sheng and Tuoba Ruo hanging out together. It works. Wen Yu gets jealous immediately and storms off to confront them. When she arrives, Tuoba Ruo is explaining the situation to her troops. The skeleton belongs to their fallen comrade. She needs their permission to let Fu Sheng use it for research. They agree, but only if Tuoba Ruo supervises the whole thing.
Medical MacGyver
Fu Sheng dives into his research. He hits a wall on how to actually stabilize the broken bone. Then he sees someone fixing a house. It clicks. He decides to use high-quality iron nails to secure Gu Tian’s injury.
He runs some tests. It turns out random bones don't fuse well with Gu Tian’s body. Fu Sheng comes up with a wild alternative. He suggests taking bone from another part of Gu Tian’s own body to fix the break. It’s risky, but it’s their best shot.
The Tournament Goes South
It is finally time for the competition. The Jade Plate and Cloud Plate sit in boxes, waiting for the winner. The tension is thick. Just as things start, Sun Siming pulls a fast one. He swaps his fighter at the last second. The Horse Gang panics.
Gu Tian steps up. He is still injured, but he fights anyway. The rules say bare hands only. It’s a scramble. Gu Tian moves like an ape and grabs the Jade Plate first. Sun Siming doesn't care about rules. He signals his people. They pull out hidden weapons and attack.
Gu Tian takes another hit and starts bleeding. But he isn't alone. The Horse Gang jumps in. It turns out Gu Tian made a secret alliance with Tuoba Ruo earlier to take down the Jibei Chamber of Commerce. The brawl gets ugly. One of Tuoba Ruo’s men gets killed. His brother goes berserk and kills one of Sun Siming’s fighters in revenge. Gu Tian reveals he has copper plates armored on his arms and starts doing real damage.
The Eagle Has Landed (With the Loot)
Just when Gu Tian seems to have the upper hand, a literal eagle swoops down. It grabs the Jade Plate and flies off. Sun Siming planned this the whole time.
Wen Yu (the male lead) realizes what’s happening. He sends Wen Jiu to chase the bird. Meanwhile, the other Wen Yu (the female lead) notices something else in the chaos. Guo Sishui swapped the Luan Bird Map. Sun Siming managed to grab both treasures. His fighter is dead, so he tries to use that as an excuse to flee the scene.
He doesn't get far. The sky turns dark with arrows. Su Rang arrives with the Jibei Army, ready to burn Xichuan to the ground. In the volley of arrows, Wen Yu gets hit.
Sun Siming thinks he won. He takes the Jade Plate and the map to Su Rang, expecting a pat on the back. Su Rang takes one look at the jade. He spots the fake immediately. Sun Siming freezes. He stands there, humiliated and terrified.
