Sun Siming Plays Dirty
Fu Sheng manages to save Gu Tian’s life. That’s the good news. The bad news is Gu Tian’s arm. The damage is severe. Doctors reattached it, but his martial arts days are likely over.
Then Sun Siming shows up. This guy has some nerve. He drags his butler to the Medical Hall to apologize to Fu Sheng and Wen Yu. He claims the whole mess was the butler's fault. To prove his "innocence," Sun Siming kills his own butler right there in the room. He says he was forced into his previous actions. He wants to partner with Fu Sheng to get the jade plate. Fu Sheng and Wen Yu aren't buying it. They ignore his offer and decide to reach out to the Horse Gang instead.
The Aftermath of the Massacre
Gu Tian wakes up. He feels weak. His first question is about his arm. He begs Fu Sheng for the truth. Fu Sheng lies to him. He says the arm will heal perfectly fine. He just wants Gu Tian to rest.
Yingying is not handling things well. She stares at the bodies of her friends. She remembers the good times with Jiuniang and Feng Qianli. The destruction of the spy network breaks her. The grief is physical. She vomits blood and collapses.
Vows of Revenge
Fu Sheng steps in to save Yingying. She survives, but she falls into a deep coma. No one knows when she will wake up. Gu Tian sits by her side. He takes her hairpin. He looks at her and makes a promise. He will get revenge for the Wind Catching Shadow Tower.
Hulu sits at the door and cries. He blames himself. He thinks he should have noticed his sister’s condition sooner. Fu Sheng comforts the kid. Hulu decides to stop crying and start working. He vows to learn medicine so he can wake his sister up.
The Rules of the Game
The martial arts competition is coming up fast. Gu Tian is in no shape to fight. It could kill him. But Fu Sheng knows his friend. Gu Tian will try to compete anyway. Fu Sheng realizes he has to fix that arm fast.
Wen Yu calls a meeting. She brings together the Horse Gang, Sun Siming, and Fu Sheng. She announces the rules. The winner gets the Luan Bird Map and the Mountain-shaped Jade. The items are hidden in a box in a specific alley. Here is the catch: no weapons allowed. It’s a race. The first group to grab the box wins. Everyone agrees. But Wen Yu is angry at her father. She thinks the setup is unfair. Gu Tian is hurt. Fu Sheng can’t fight. The odds are stacked against them.
Hitting Rock Bottom
Gu Tian eventually learns the truth. His arm is useless. He spirals. He spends his days drinking alcohol and feeling sorry for himself.
The Horse Gang prepares for the contest. The leader tells Tuoba Ruo to pick two strong fighters. They need that map. Tuoba Ruo is hesitant. She thinks the treasure map brings too much trouble. The leader disagrees. He wants the glory for the Horse Gang. He ignores her warnings.
A Late Night Ambush
The Horse Gang leader plays dirty. He sends experts to ambush Gu Tian at night. He wants to cripple Gu Tian so he can't enter the contest. Gu Tian is drunk and defenseless. The attackers corner him in an alley. They beat him down.
Fu Sheng and Wen Yu arrive just in time. They save Gu Tian from a permanent beating. Fu Sheng makes a serious promise. He will cure Gu Tian’s hand. Gu Tian hears this. He thinks of Yingying. He decides to pull himself together. Wen Yu moves Yingying to the City Lord’s manor. It is safer there than the Medical Hall. Finally, Fu Sheng figures out a treatment plan for the arm.
