Episode Summary

The Couch Confession
Cen Jin opens her door to find Li Wu completely wasted. She lets him in and tries to help him out of his coat. He isn't having it. He pulls her into a hug and pins her to the sofa. He kisses her hard. Cen Jin tries to push him away at first. But she doesn't fight too hard. She actually seems to enjoy it.
He finally stops. He looks at her and drops a bomb. He says he has hated her for years. This confession triggers a flashback to eight years ago. Li Wu was a college freshman. The Cheating Husband

Cen Jin goes home. Li Wu is waiting at the door. She changes the lock password to the current date. Only the two of them know it.
We jump back to the present timeline. Li Wu wakes up in a hotel room. He remembers the aggressive kiss from the night before. He feels guilty. The hotel staff tells him Cen Jin left her ID card at the front desk. He takes it. He decides he will return it personally.
Later, Cen Jin needs her ID for a work contract. She calls the hotel. They tell her Li Wu took it. She texts him. He tells her to come get it herself. She ignores him. That night, she packs up a box of Li Wu's old things. She plans to return them and cut ties.

The episode wraps up with one last look at 2016. The divorce is final. Cen Jin quits her job immediately. Chun Chang takes her out to celebrate her freedom. Meanwhile, Li Wu gets his new school uniform. Cen Jin asks his roommate to send her a photo of him wearing it.
