Spoiler Alert
Sawa Goes Off the Rails
Sawa Eisaku has officially lost his mind. He wants chaos. He figures if things explode, Imai Keiichi and the Japanese command will have no choice but to join the fight. He sends Huang Gongjie back to the East Asia Hotel to take hostages. He also beefs up his secret police with heavy weapons.
He gives Wang Qiuzai a secret order. He tells him failure is not an option.
The Spy on the Ledge
The hotel lines are dead. He Xian and his crew are in the dark. But Qiao Yinwan is stuck inside the hotel. She overhears Sawa talking to Huang Gongjie. She learns the truth. Sawa staged the assassination of Fukue himself. The secret police are the real killers.
Qiao Yinwan makes a bold move. She climbs out the window. She risks falling to her death to fix the cut phone line. She gets through to He Xian for a split second. She screams that the Fukue case is a setup. Sawa cuts the line again. He ties her to a chair.
Walking Into the Trap
He Xian and Ke Lin piece the story together. They know Sawa is guilty. But they have no proof. Imai still suspects He Xian. Sawa keeps stalling Imai. He pushes Dai Sile to get He Xian to the hotel for talks.
Everyone tells He Xian to stay away. It is obviously a trap. He Xian disagrees. He thinks going to the East Asia Hotel is his only shot to see Imai. He has two plans. Plan A depends on Ke Lin waking up Fukue’s secretary, Asahina. Plan B is riskier. He Xian will use himself as bait.
The Brother Reveal
Ke Lin hands a secret letter to Ke Zhengping. He tells him to find Yang Chang and send messages to the resistance columns. Zhengping sees the fresh ink on the paper. It hits him. His brother Ke Lin is the mysterious "Buddha's Hand."
Trouble strikes at He Xian’s house. Wang Qiuzai raids the place. He wants to grab He Xian’s family. He Chengxi blocks the door to let Guo Qiwen and the other kids run. Little Zai Zai runs back to help his grandfather. The goons capture both the old man and the boy.
The Standoff Begins
He Xian walks into the hotel alone. He faces Sawa. Sawa is blunt. He tells He Xian to hand over the supplies. That is the only way to save Macau.
Outside, Huang Zixia makes a promise to Dai Sile. The Dahao Gang is mobilizing. They will block the waters with six hundred boats. If the Japanese attack, the gang will smuggle He Xian’s family out instantly. Dai Sile relaxes. He says the government will stand with He Xian.
A Call from Home
Ke Lin rushes back to the hospital. Asahina is still in a coma. Guo Qiwen arrives with her daughter, Ximei. She brings bad news. The Japanese took the grandfather and Zai Zai.
Inside the hotel, He Xian refuses to cave. He demands to see Imai. Sawa gets annoyed. He is waiting for Guo Qiwen to call and break He Xian’s spirit.
Ke Lin and Ma Wanqi want to keep the kidnapping a secret. They don't want to distract He Xian. Guo Qiwen disagrees. She knows the Japanese will use it as leverage anyway. She calls the hotel. She tells He Xian exactly what happened. Sawa watches He Xian’s face drop and smirks. But Guo Qiwen is tough. She tells her husband not to worry. She trusts him to handle it.
