Episode Summary
Jiang Mu refuses to leave with her mother and spends her birthday with Jin Chao at his garage. After a drunken dinner and a sleepover complicated by period cramps, we learn their backstory: Jin Chao was adopted after his father died, and Jiang Mu saved him from being kicked out as a toddler. The next morning, Jiang Mu shows off her mechanic skills, while a rival racer named Lin Sui hunts for a mystery driver who beat him.

Birthday Blues and Garage Brews
Jiang Yinghan doesn't wait around. She leaves with her husband, leaving Jiang Mu behind. Jiang Mu cries in her room for a bit. Then Xinxin drops the intel on Jin Chao’s location. He is over at the Feichi Garage.
Jiang Mu heads over there. Jin Chao asks why she didn't leave with her mom. She ignores the question and wishes him a happy birthday. This part hits hard. Jin Chao doesn't actually know his real birthday. His adoptive dad, Jin Qiang, just decided long ago that the two kids would share the same birthday.
They go out to eat. Jiang Mu digs deep. She asks if he’s happy and if Xinxin’s birth made him feel like an outsider. Jin Chao plays it cool. He says he’s used to it. He buys a cake and even lets her drink alcohol. She pushes for his real birth date. He shuts it down. He says it doesn't matter. The only date he cares about is the day she was born.
Wishes and Drunken Confessions
Jiang Mu makes her wishes over the candles. First, she wants to know Jin Chao’s real birthday. Second, she wants them to stay together forever. They crack open some beers. Jiang Mu admits she’s a messy drunk. Jin Chao laughs it off. He tells her to drink up because he’s there to handle the fallout.
She starts worrying about her mom getting scammed. Jin Chao tells her to relax. Jiang Yinghan knows what she’s doing.
We get some history here. Jin Chao arrived at the Jin house before Jiang Mu was born. He always knew he wasn't their biological son. Back to the present, the alcohol hits Jiang Mu. She complains that her mom sold their old house. She feels homeless and unloved. Jin Chao tries to take her home. She refuses. She wants to crash at the garage. He says no. She whines about needing a hot shower. He finally caves.
The Awkward Sleepover
Things get chaotic immediately. Jiang Mu’s period starts. She has cramps. Jin Chao has to make a run to the store for pads. He has no clue what to buy. He grabs a bunch of different kinds. The shop owner doesn't help the vibe. She slips a box of condoms into his bag at checkout.
Jiang Mu showers and puts on Jin Chao’s clothes. It’s a little awkward. She crawls into his bed. The cramps are bad. Jin Chao Googles how to help. He ends up warming her stomach with his hand.
This triggers a massive flashback. We learn about Jin Chao’s bio dad, Cha Le. He was best friends with Jin Qiang. Cha Le died in a racing accident. Jin Qiang brought Jin Chao home. Jiang Yinghan was pregnant at the time and hated the idea. She couldn't change her husband's mind though.
Later, Jiang Mu was two years old and still not talking. Her mom blamed Jin Chao for it. She packed his bags to send him away. Right before he left, the toddler spoke up. She called him "Brother." That one word kept him in the family.
Morning After and Mystery Racers
The next morning, the garage crew rolls in. They spot someone in Jin Chao’s bed. The gossip starts immediately. Jiang Mu wakes up and walks out. She sees the mechanics struggling with a repair. She steps in and fixes the problem without breaking a sweat.
Jin Chao walks out. He sees her wearing his oversized shirt. He immediately blocks the employees' view. He tells her to go put on some pants. He makes her fried rice. She tries to push her luck. She wants him to grab her suitcase so she can move in for a few days. He shuts that down fast.
Meanwhile, there is trouble brewing elsewhere. Lin Sui was out drag racing the night before. A black car cut him off and smoked him. He is furious. He orders his subordinates to check the surveillance footage. The cameras only caught a side profile of a guy in a baseball cap. Lin Sui doesn't care. He tells them to turn Man City upside down to find this driver.
