Episode Summary

The Hospital Bed Confessional
The hospital drama kicks off immediately. Lin Yusen rushes Nie Xiguang to the ER. Luckily, she is fine. It’s mostly just scratches. He stays by her bedside like a guard dog anyway.
Xiguang wakes up and immediately chooses violence. She correctly identifies him, but then she snaps. She asks if he targets her constantly just because she is Nie Chengyuan’s daughter. She doesn’t stop there. She lists every single disaster since they met. She brings up the warehouse fall. She mentions the balcony scare caused by his loud friend. She is exhausted and starts crying.
Lin Yusen actually feels hurt by this. He sees her complaining and feels aggrieved himself. He remembers exactly why he is in this mess. He got into a car accident years ago specifically because he was trying to meet her.
A Painful Blast from the Past
We get a look at that old trauma. Years ago, Lin Yusen ended up in a coma after a crash. He survived, but his arm suffered severe nerve damage. It required long-term rehab. His classmate felt terrible since he set up the meeting.
Lin Yusen brushed it off as an accident back then. But he was disappointed. Xiguang never showed up to the hospital to see him. He told his friend to stop worrying, but the resentment clearly stuck.
The "Responsible Boss" Act
Back in the present, Lin Yusen refuses to leave the hospital. He grabs lunch in the cafeteria with an old colleague, Dr. Fang. Fang asks the obvious question. Why does he care so much? Lin Yusen claims it is just "employer responsibility." He even orders special plain porridge for her.
Fang isn't buying it. He teases Lin Yusen. He knows this relationship isn't just professional.
Yin Jie drops by to visit. Lin Yusen hands off the porridge to her so he doesn't have to deliver it himself. Yin Jie goes into the room and apologizes profusely to Xiguang. Xiguang isn't mad at her.
Then Yin Jie spills the tea. She reveals that Lin Yusen caught Xiguang single-handedly during the fall. He knelt on the ground and looked like he was in serious pain, probably aggravating an old injury. He rode in the ambulance alone with her. Xiguang even threw up on him.
Calling a Truce
Back at the office, Yin Jie leaves Xiguang to think. Xiguang feels guilty now. She texts Lin Yusen a thank you message and falls asleep. Lin Yusen replies, but she misses it. He is worried, so he applies medicine to his own injuries and rushes back to the hospital.
He is waiting there when she wakes up. The vibe shifts. Xiguang isn't hateful anymore. She thanks him for taking her to the hospital. Lin Yusen decides to wipe the slate clean. He says everything from the past is cancelled out.
Dr. Fang comes in for rounds. He sees Lin Yusen there early in the morning and smirks. He knows his friend has zero dating skills. He decides to help.
The Wingman Strategy
Dr. Fang invites Lin Yusen to discuss a surgery case right there in the room. It’s a total setup. Xiguang watches them talk. She sees Lin Yusen speaking professional medical jargon. She actually starts to admire him. It works.
Fang wraps it up and invites Lin Yusen to dinner. He tells him to bring Xiguang along.
This starts a weird routine. For several days, Xiguang eats every meal with Lin Yusen. She talks to Yin Jie about it. Yin Jie thinks Lin Yusen likes her. Xiguang shuts that down. She reminds Yin Jie that he bullied her constantly when she first joined the company. People don't change that fast.
Leveling Up
Xiguang gets bored of hospital life. She starts gaming to kill time. Lin Yusen visits, but she is too busy trying to beat a level to say hello.
The next day, Lin Yusen brings a gift. It’s her work laptop. He claims she needs to "balance her brain nerves" with work. He asks about her game. She admits the level is too hard. Lin Yusen hands her the laptop to work. Then, he takes her game console. He starts playing to beat the level for her.
