Episode Summary
The Wu family scrambles to cover up a manslaughter charge after Wang Dan dies crashing into a stone statue. Xu Zhiyang agrees to take the fall for his new wife, admitting to a crime he didn't commit. Meanwhile, police pressure mounts as Feifei discovers her father has been lying about his health and possibly knows more about a second body found inside the statue.

The Cover-Up
Uncle Ming and Wu Guohao handled the Wang Dan situation. They did this behind Wu Feifei's back. Feifei finds out. She is furious. She feels like they played her for a fool. But Guohao actually kept things from exploding. He did his job.
The family sits down with Xu Zhiyang. They need to clear the air. They lie to him. They say Wang Dan took a payoff and left town. Zhiyang believes it. He finally relaxes. He stops worrying about finding her. Guohao brings up the company shares. He acts casual about it. He tells Zhiyang to keep the shares. He says it will give Zhiyang some leverage later.
Old Wounds
Father and daughter have a deep talk. Guohao tells Feifei to stop acting so tough. But there is a wall between them. Feifei never talks about it. The wall is her mother, Li Hongyue. Feifei knows her mom died from postpartum depression. Guohao keeps a private study full of her things. Feifei used to go in there as a kid. She stopped doing that to spare her father's feelings. She remembers something strange though. Her mother once told her to go to Penglai Square. She said to listen to the voice inside the stone lion statue.
The Wedding Crasher
Police knock on the door right before the wedding. They ask about Wang Dan. It turns out Wang Dan drove her car into that stone lion. She died on impact. Feifei panics. She struggles with the news. But she decides to go through with the wedding anyway.
The guests leave. The party ends. Zhiyang sits down with the father and daughter. He asks why they lied about Wang Dan leaving. Guohao comes clean this time. He admits Feifei and Wang Dan had a fight. Feifei pushed Wang Dan down the stairs. Wang Dan lost the baby.
Taking the Fall
The doctors removed Wang Dan’s uterus to save her life. Guohao spins this narrative. He claims Wang Dan crashed the car out of revenge. He wants to take the blame for the injury. Zhiyang steps up. He says this mess started with him. He insists on taking the fall.
Lawyer Cao coaches Zhiyang on what to say. Zhiyang gets into the police car. Feifei and her dad also get coaching. They need to be perfect during questioning. Zhiyang sits in the detention center. He admits he hurt Wang Dan. He uses their emotional history to distract the police. Meanwhile, Guohao investigates something else. He looks into the body found inside the stone lion.
Lies and Alibis
The police drop a bomb on Feifei. Guohao faked his diabetes hospitalization. Feifei goes home. Guohao tries to send Uncle Ming out to buy food. Su Min is already there. He bought the food. He stops Uncle Ming from returning. He wants to give the father and daughter space to talk.
Feifei confronts her dad. She asks if he knew about the body in the statue. Guohao dodges. He says the situation is too complex. Feifei believes him. She feels lost again.
Feifei meets with Su Min later. She reports back to her dad. Guohao shows her a video. He wants her to understand his motives. Feifei sides with her father again. They go back to the police station. Su Min lets them go. The police have testimony but no hard proof. Su Min pulls out a photo. He asks if Feifei knows the woman in the picture. Feifei remembers. She saw that woman at her wedding.
