Jin Tong is frantic. Ma Weiguo is running out of time due to his illness. She wants him to get treatment immediately. Ma Weiguo gets annoyed by the pressure. He asks her point-blank if she likes him. She doesn't say no. She doesn't say yes either. She just leaves a note on his door later.
They end up at a bar. The alcohol loosens Jin Tong's tongue. She finally admits she likes him. She fell for him back at the art exhibition. She calls him out on his own feelings too. She knows he likes her. He is just too stubborn to admit it. She leaves him there. Ma Weiguo walks home alone. He looks at her house and remembers their time together in the US.
Business and Old Flames
Li Lianbao meets Dong Qian's boss. Dong Qian waits outside nervously. Li comes out looking devastated. It is a prank. He starts laughing. The meeting actually went well. They celebrate with drinks. Li takes her home. The alcohol hits. Things get intimate in the car and later in her room. Li wants to make this official. Dong Qian shuts it down. She thinks he is in love with the past version of her. She has changed too much. They can't go back to how things were.
The Past Comes to Light
Ma Weiguo tries to help Jin Tong with her photography exhibition. He introduces her to a friend in the industry. It backfires. They get into a huge argument. Wang Chunsheng arrives and overhears the fight. Later, Ma gets a call from Lawyer Wang. He needs to return to the US to handle some affairs. He feels his work in Beijing is done. He prepares to leave.
Li Lianbao runs into an old acquaintance named Little Five at a bar. They talk about the big fight from their youth. Little Five drops a bomb. Ma Weiguo only got involved in that fight to protect Li from a guy named Brother Ma. Li finally understands. He blamed Ma Weiguo for years. He was wrong. It was all for him.
Brothers Reunited
Wang Chunsheng knows about Ma's illness. He makes him healthy soup. Ma realizes Wang knows. He asks him to keep it a secret. The four brothers gather at an old spot. They tried to barbecue here as kids but forgot the charcoal. Ma wants to fix that memory. They finally have their barbecue. Li apologizes to Ma for the misunderstanding about the fight.
Wang goes home and looks at old photos with his wife, Li Jing. Tong Qiu's parents are still trying to find Ma a wife. Li drives to Dong's place for a date. Ma looks at his wish list. He has ticked off almost everything. He burns the paper. He is satisfied.
