Episode Summary
Ma Weiguo tries to leave secretly, but his friends catch him and learn about his illness. They rally to find a cure. Jack attacks Ma Weiguo, but Li Lianbao protects him. Jack later reveals that Ma Weiguo's own company plotted against him. Tong Qiu faces off against his old boss, President Qiu, who tries and fails to blackmail him. Ma Weiguo holds another living funeral ceremony to reminisce with Li Lianbao.

The Vanishing Act
Ma Weiguo tries to pull a fast one. He slips away early in the morning without telling anyone. Wang Chunsheng, Li Lianbao, and Tong Qiu meet up and wait for him. He never shows. Wang gets a bad feeling. He drags the other two to Ma Weiguo’s house.
The place is empty. Ma Weiguo left the door code for them though. They get inside and find a letter. It is a goodbye note. Wang Chunsheng realizes he can't hide the truth anymore. He finally tells Li Lianbao and Tong Qiu about Ma Weiguo’s illness. The brothers panic. Wang Chunsheng is ready to fly all the way to the US just to find him.
An Intervention and a Surprise Attack
Ma Weiguo handles some business at his company and heads home. He is surprised to find Li Lianbao sitting there waiting for him. Li Lianbao doesn't waste time. He immediately video calls Wang Chunsheng and Tong Qiu. It is an intervention. Wang Chunsheng tells Ma Weiguo to stop running. He suggests coming back to China for treatment if the foreign doctors can't help. They want to figure this out together.
Later that night, Jin Tong video calls Li Lianbao. She asks about Ma Weiguo’s condition. She is clearly still in love with him. She acts angry and won't admit her feelings. But she still sends over some medical data she found. She wants to help. Wang Chunsheng is also working hard. He mobilizes his whole family to find a cure.
The next morning starts with a scare. Li Lianbao wakes up and Ma Weiguo is gone. He thinks his friend bailed again. Ma Weiguo walks in the door a moment later. He just went to buy breakfast. He tells Li Lianbao he plans to leave for real. He wants to give his house to Li Lianbao. Li Lianbao refuses and chases him outside.
Trouble shows up. Jack appears out of nowhere looking for revenge. He tries to attack Ma Weiguo. Li Lianbao steps in and blocks the hit for his brother.
Corporate Sabotage
Ma Weiguo tracks Jack down later. Jack looks terrible. He is living on the streets now. Ma Weiguo wants to end the feud. He even gives Jack a sum of money to help him out. Jack breaks down. He reveals a secret. The people at Ma Weiguo's company were the ones pulling the strings. They used Jack to target him.
This changes everything. Ma Weiguo finds the company executives. He was planning to transfer his shares to them. He cancels that plan immediately. He decides to transfer the shares to someone else instead.
Tong Qiu Stands His Ground
Tong Qiu travels to Xi’an for work. He takes the chance to visit Zhang Xiaoshi. He goes to meet a client named Mr. Cao. President Qiu is there too. It turns out Qiu and Cao are buddies. President Qiu starts trouble immediately. He mocks Tong Qiu and calls him a hypocrite.
Zhang Xiaoshi arrives at the meeting. President Qiu tries to blow up their relationship. He pulls out photos of Tong Qiu at a bar. He thinks this is a smoking gun. It fails completely. Zhang Xiaoshi has already seen them. Tong Qiu told her everything beforehand. President Qiu looks foolish. The couple leaves together. Tong Qiu knows he probably just lost his job. Zhang Xiaoshi doesn't care. She says she is willing to support him for the rest of his life.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
Ma Weiguo calls Manager Zhao. This is the guy who organized his "funeral" before. Ma Weiguo wants to do it again. He wants Li Lianbao to see it this time.
They hold the ceremony. Li Lianbao looks at the setup. He actually keeps a smile on his face. Ma Weiguo displayed a lot of photos from their childhood. Li Lianbao looks at the pictures and talks about their past. Ma Weiguo listens to the stories. He remembers the good times they had together.
