Episode Summary
Xia Jingshi learns Fu Yixiao is now Feng Suige's concubine and has amnesia, forgetting her entire past with the army. Fu Yixiao misunderstands Feng Suige's attempts to protect her, believing he is holding her captive. She arranges a secret meeting with Xia Jingshi, but it's sabotaged when the king summons him to the palace. Frustrated, Fu Yixiao goes to the inn herself, leading to a painful reunion where she fails to recognize Xia Jingshi at all.

A Rivalry Reignited
The episode kicks off with Xia Jingshi. He has zero memory of his conversation with Feng Xiyang. When Feng Xiyang argues that women can't go to war, Xia Jingshi immediately brings up Fu Yixiao. He uses her as the ultimate example of a woman who can fight and kill on the battlefield.
Things get tense on the way back to the inn. Xia Jingshi runs straight into his old rival, Feng Suige. The reunion is anything but friendly. Feng Suige drops a bomb. He tells Xia Jingshi that Fu Yixiao is now his concubine. You can just see the news crush Xia Jingshi. He completely loses his composure. To add insult to injury, Feng Suige has his men dump Ning Fei back at the inn. Ning Fei has three broken ribs. When Fu Yixiao hears about this, she sends Ling Xueying to go patch him up.
The Amnesia Bombshell
Xia Jingshi wants to know how Fu Yixiao is doing. He asks Ling Xueying for details. This was a mistake. Ling Xueying is furious. She blames him and his men for failing to protect their own comrade. She lays it all out. Fu Yixiao’s left hand was severely injured. She has amnesia. She doesn't remember Jinxiu. She doesn't even remember the legendary "Three Heroes of the Zhennan Army."
A Misunderstood Protector
Fu Yixiao wants to see Xia Jingshi. Feng Suige flat-out refuses to let her go. From her point of view, he's just scared. She thinks he's worried she will get her memory back. Then she would want to leave Yujing City with Xia Jingshi and break their deal.
But that’s not the whole story. Feng Suige is actually trying to protect her. We learn that the person who attacked Fu Yixiao was someone she knew. The culprit was identified. The token they used can control the Zhennan Army's secret guards. Only two people have that authority. One is Xia Jingshi, the Prince of Zhennan. The other is Adjutant Xiao Weiran. Feng Suige keeps this information from Fu Yixiao. So, she continues to misunderstand his motives.
A Secret Meeting Goes Wrong
Xiao Weiran gives Ling Xueying a bamboo whistle for Fu Yixiao. He says if she ever needs help, she just has to blow it. They will come for her. Ling Xueying knows Fu Yixiao was hurt by an ally. But she still thinks Feng Suige, a known killer, is the more dangerous man.
Fu Yixiao decides she won't betray Feng Suige. He did save her life, after all. But she also has no intention of being his prisoner. She hatches a plan. She tells Ling Xueying to get a message to Xia Jingshi. She will pretend to visit the child in Ling Xueying's backyard. That’s where she and Xia Jingshi will meet.
The King's Interference
The plan falls apart almost immediately. Zhuang Jingyuan has a spy planted near Feng Xiyang. The maid tells him all about Fu Yixiao's existence. That very same day, Zhuang Jingyuan summons Xia Jingshi to the palace. This completely ruins the timing for the secret meeting.
The Confrontation That Wasn't
Feng Suige seems to know everything that happens in the city. He shows up and knocks on the door to Ling Xueying's backyard. He tells Fu Yixiao she can see Xia Jingshi. But she has to do it right there, in front of him. He is always in control of the situation.
Xia Jingshi never shows up. Feng Suige sits in the yard and drinks all the tea. Fu Yixiao gets more and more agitated. She is convinced Feng Suige sabotaged her plan. She finally snaps. She threatens to kill anyone who tries to stop her from seeing Xia Jingshi.
An Unforgettable Reunion
Fu Yixiao storms out and heads straight for the inn. Feng Suige is furious. But he still tells his man, Yunfang, to follow her and make sure she stays out of trouble.
She finally sees her old comrades, Ning Fei and Xiao Weiran. She doesn't remember them at all. She can tell, though, that Ning Fei's concern for her is genuine. Just then, Xia Jingshi returns from the palace. He is completely caught off guard when he sees Fu Yixiao. But she just stares at him blankly. She doesn't remember him or anything about their past together. To her, he is a total stranger.
