In this gripping crime suspense series, apresent-day homicide case forces twoprosecutors to unravel the truth behind a controversial legal decision made fourteen years ago.

The story begins when Duan Hongshan (Zhang Luyi), a seniorprosecutor at the MunicipalProcuratorate, takes on a sensitive case involving a woman who killed her abusive husband.To assist in the high-profile investigation, Fang Lingyuan (Gao Ye), a sharpyoungprosecutor from theProvincialProcuratorate, is assigned to the case.

As they delve deeper, the twoprosecutors discover that their current case is inextricably linked to a "campus excessive self-defense" incident from fourteen yearsprior—a case that Duan Hongshan himself handled.That old case involved three students, Li Mufeng (played in a special guest appearance by Bai Jingting), Mei Zheng (Zhang Baijia), and Jiang Ting (Ye Qing).

Forced to confront thepast, Duan Hongshan and Fang Lingyuan must navigate a complex web of buried secrets and conflicting testimonies.
