A Massive Crash Changes Everything
Triage on the Roadside
The episode kicks off with a huge car crash. A school bus is involved, and it's bad. Wen Yi Jia is right there in the middle of it. She's in her car and has a serious head injury.
But she tells the first responders to save the kids and other victims first. It's a chaotic scene. There are injured children everywhere. The school bus driver dies on the spot. Many people have critical injuries, like broken ribs.
Doctors Become Heroes
Dong Yi Yan arrives on foot and immediately gets to work. She finds a patient with a blocked vein who needs surgery now or they will die. So she just does it. Right there on the side of the road.
Dai De Qiao shows up, completely panicked about Wen Yi Jia. He's yelling for someone to help her. Meanwhile, Hai Chun is there too, terrified he's about to lose his mom, Wen Yi Jia. He even helps save a woman by getting her husband on the phone, which seems to give her the will to live. Peng Jian Bang and Wang Qi Cheng are also in the thick of it. They seem to realize that this is what being a doctor is all about. This is their battlefield.
The Aftermath and Arrests
Dai De Qiao's Downfall
Dai De Qiao also gets hurt in the crash. When he wakes up, he sees Dong Yi Yan talking to reporters. Hearing her speak makes him realize something. Maybe Ming Lang Hospital isn't so bad after all. There are actually dedicated doctors working there.
Just as he's having this revelation, the police arrive. Wen Yi Jia had brought his mother to see him, and they have a moment before he's arrested. The charge is using illegal methods in his business operations. He finally admits to himself that he let hatred ruin his life. Wen Yi Jia's words at the crash site must have hit home.
Loose Ends
We also get a quiet moment with Dong Yi Yan and Fang Xin. Dong Yi Yan thanks her for helping the hospital. She also explains why Wang Jin Tao never got with Fang Xin. As a doctor, he couldn't start a relationship with a patient. It would have been taking advantage of her vulnerability.
Fang Xin learns that Dai De Qiao was the one behind the plane crash. She's heartbroken but also relieved she got away from him when she did.
Six Months Later
New Beginnings
The show jumps forward half a year. Peng Jian Bang is released from whatever "rehabilitation" he was in and has a happy reunion with Wang Qi Cheng.
The bond between Hai Chun and Wen Yi Jia is much stronger since the accident. Dai De Qiao even writes a letter to Wen Yi Jia from prison. He thanks her for opening his eyes to a world beyond revenge.
The Future of Ming Lang
Dong Yi Yan finds a letter her late husband left for her. He left all his money to her. She breaks down crying.
The ending is all about hope. Ming Lang Hospital is back on its feet. Its reputation is restored, and it's even expanding. Dong Yi Yan has become a famous and respected doctor because of her actions at the crash. She's ready to carry the hospital's legacy forward.
