Episode Summary
Episode 26 sees Qin Chang proposing to a tearful Song Mingmei, who accepts. Meanwhile, Ding Zhitong and Gan Yang briefly reconcile with a kiss, but Ding Zhitong abruptly breaks things off, revealing a tragic past involving Gan Yang and her mother's death. Gan Yang moves his company back to Putian, and the employees show their support by agreeing to relocate with him.

First up, Qin Chang is still playing the devoted boyfriend, patiently waiting for Song Mingmei. He wants to shower her with food, but she's too eager to get back home. He keeps her illness to himself, but sends her medical reports to a doctor friend, hoping for a miracle. Back home, Song Mingmei shares a heartbreaking moment with her daughter, Yulin, knowing her time might be limited.
Meanwhile, things are getting interesting at the company. Ding Zhitong pulls out of the "Training Box" project. In a surprising twist, she teams up with Gan Yang to help him sell off some unwanted materials. But hold on, Wang Yi and Xu Chenxi are caught red-handed getting cozy! They announce they're dating, much to the amusement of Gan Yang and Ding Zhitong.
Gan Yang signs the Training Box over to Wang Sen, but warns him he's not giving up what truly matters. Wang Sen, ever the schemer, is determined to crush Gan Yang, believing he'll abandon Ding Zhitong again.
In a bold move, Gan Yang announces he's moving the company back to Putian, his hometown! Ding Zhitong worries about a mass exodus, but Gan Yang is confident it's the right move, promising a return to Shanghai soon. To his surprise and gratitude, everyone decides to stick with him.
Back to Song Mingmei, Qin Chang takes her out for a day of silly fun, complete with crazy wigs and bubble blowing. But he knows she's just faking it. He confesses his regret over not confessing his feelings six years ago and vows to be by her side, illness and all. Then, he gets down on one knee, ring in hand! Song Mingmei, tears streaming, says "yes!"
Just when you think things are looking up, Ding Zhitong and Gan Yang share a passionate kiss after she secures a buyer for his materials. But something's clearly bothering Ding Zhitong, and she abruptly pulls away. The next morning, she's gone! She calls Gan Yang, breaks things off, and says she needs to leave Shanghai. Gan Yang is left reeling, confused and heartbroken.
To make matters worse, Gan Yang sees Wang Yi and Xu Chenxi all loved up, and it just twists the knife. He seeks out Song Mingmei, desperate to know what's going on with Ding Zhitong.
Flashback time! We finally learn why Ding Zhitong is so conflicted. Years ago, after a fight with Gan Yang, she rushed to find him, only to mistakenly believe he was with Xu Chenxi. Devastated, she returned home to find her mother had died in an accident. Overcome with guilt and grief, she agreed to marry Feng Sheng out of gratitude, but ultimately couldn't go through with it.
Gan Yang visits Ding Zhitong's mother's grave, where she reveals the tragic details of her mother's death. That night, Ding Zhitong had a fever and her phone died while calling her mom, who then fell and died while worrying about her daughter. Gan Yang blames himself, but Ding Zhitong insists it's not his fault. She admits she's been trying to forget him, but can't. Gan Yang asks the big question: is this really the end for them?
So, there you have it! Episode 26 leaves us with a proposal, a broken heart, and a whole lot of unanswered questions. Will Gan Yang and Ding Zhitong find their way back to each other? And how will Song Mingmei face her illness with Qin Chang by her side? Stay tuned!
