Alright, so this episode picks up with some heavy family stuff and matchmaking chaos.
First off, Qin Tianyue and Feng Qingming head over to Zheng Yunfeng's parents' little shop. They're trying to smooth things over and explain the situation, likely about Yunfeng's romantic life. But his parents are really digging their heels in. They are adamant about finding a partner for their son who doesn't have any disabilities.
Here's their reasoning, which is kind of heartbreaking: Zheng Yunfeng wasn't born deaf-mute. When he was a kid, his parents were super busy with their business, and he got a high fever while home alone. Nobody was there to take care of him, he missed the crucial treatment window, and that's how he lost his hearing and speech. Because his condition isn't genetic (unlike congenital deaf-mutism, which they worry could be passed down), they are dead set on him marrying someone "healthy" to avoid any perceived hereditary risks for potential grandkids. It's a tough spot, rooted in their past guilt and specific fears about genetics.
Meanwhile, Li Lefan has landed a new client, a Mr. Song (later identified as Song Hao). This guy's been trying his hand at entrepreneurship, but it sounds like he's mostly struck out. Mr. Song (Song Hao) goes on another date. This time, it's a woman who turns out to be one of his father's former students! She's now a language teacher, seems very gentle and cultured, but Song Hao isn't interested. Why? Because he specifically doesn't want to date someone local from Ningzhou. After this date, he has a chat with Li Lefan and seems to have a lightbulb moment: she fits his criteria! She's single, not from Ningzhou, and an only child. Naturally, Zheng Yunfeng's parents are over the moon when they hear the "good news." Qin Tianyue and Feng Qingming are also pleased, thinking their matchmaking worked perfectly. Little do they know...
Later, Miao Miao actually meets Zheng Yunfeng's secret girlfriend. Plot twist! It turns out the girlfriend is an illustrator whose work Miao Miao has been admiring online without knowing who she was. Seeing an opportunity, Miao Miao suggests the girlfriend could potentially work as a part-time art teacher at the special school. Zheng Yunfeng encourages his girlfriend to give it a shot.
Oh, and amidst all this romantic maneuvering, there's a little check-in on Ma Jie and Fang Ye. Things are apparently getting rockier between them. They have very different lifestyles and habits, leading to constant arguments. The kicker? They haven't even been intimate since they officially got together. Yikes.
