Episode Summary
Luo Man's attempt to film a documentary leads to an awkward but ultimately cooperative encounter with Zhou Musun. Meanwhile, her relationship with Fang Chi faces pressure as he pushes for definition. The central drama explodes as Chen Kaixi discovers her husband Chen Mian is not only having an affair but the other woman (his assistant) is pregnant. Luo Man supports Kaixi in uncovering the truth, leading to a confrontation with their mutual friend Zhong Qingcheng, who is also revealed to be secretly in contact with Chen Mian, shattering their friendship. The episode culminates in a tense dinner party hosted by Chen Mian, where his passive-aggressive behavior towards Luo Man and Fang Chi is on full display, and a misplaced gift of baby shoes from Chen Mian's family throws Chen Kaixi into a rage.

So, Luo Man is looking for a patient to feature in her documentary, and who does she run into? None other than Zhou Musun. Talk about an awkward reunion! But things are surprisingly calm between them this time. Zhou Musun even notices Luo Man's lost weight and asks how she's been. Luo Man figures he'll say no to being filmed, so she doesn't push it. But, plot twist! Zhou Musun actually agrees, wanting to support her work. After filming wraps, he tries to invite her to dinner, but Luo Man flat-out refuses, saying she’s meeting Fang Chi. Zhou Musun gets all passive-aggressive, like he’s trying to stake his claim. Fang Chi, bless his heart, plays along and makes it seem like he and Luo Man are super close, totally cool about it. Once they're out of earshot, Luo Man thanks Fang Chi for helping her dodge that bullet, but Fang Chi is actually pretty ticked off by her "thanks for the save" attitude.
Meanwhile, Chen Mian’s car gets flagged for a violation, and the traffic cam photo? Oh, it’s a doozy – showing him getting a little too friendly with a woman in the car. When Chen Kaixi sees it, she calls Chen Mian, but they barely say anything, and she can't bring herself to mention the photo. Small talk, then hang up. Yikes.
Back with Luo Man, Fang Chi is seriously pressing her to DTR (define the relationship). Luo Man, who's usually so put-together, is completely flustered. Perfect timing for a call from Chen Kaixi. The besties meet up, and Kaixi spills the beans about Chen Mian. And this isn't just another fling – this time, the other woman is pregnant. Luo Man is livid for her friend and immediately tells Kaixi she needs to get solid proof.
So, Luo Man helps Chen Kaixi search Chen Mian's computer for evidence. They discover he’s a frequent gamer and, more importantly, has been having some pretty flirty chats with… Zhong Qingcheng! Yep, turns out Zhong Qingcheng and Chen Mian have been in contact all along, not estranged like everyone thought. And what do you know, Zhong Qingcheng and Chen Mian are seen meeting up, looking way too chummy, like old friends (or more).
Luo Man and Chen Kaixi confront Zhong Qingcheng about her connection with Chen Mian. Zhong Qingcheng denies it all, claiming she's in a "career growth phase" and definitely wouldn't be having a baby with Chen Mian. Right. As if on cue, Zhou Musun walks by and sees the whole confrontation. It’s pretty clear to Luo Man and Chen Kaixi that Zhong Qingcheng is just making excuses. And with that, their three-way bestie bond is officially shattered.
Later, Luo Man is watching footage for her documentary and sees Fang Chi looking pretty close with a Liu Yiran. And guess what? She actually feels a little jealous! That night, worried about Chen Kaixi, Luo Man secretly calls her.
The next day, Chen Kaixi shows Luo Man a video: it’s Chen Mian with a very pregnant woman. And Chen Kaixi knows her – it’s Chen Mian’s assistant! Luo Man is floored by how awful Chen Mian is being and declares he's now their "common enemy," promising to support Kaixi all the way.
Then, get this: Chen Mian invites Luo Man to dinner at his and Kaixi's house. Luo Man, playing it cool, agrees to go, pretending everything's normal. Chen Mian, ever the pot-stirrer, also invites Fang Chi and even Zhou Musun, supposedly to thank Zhou Musun for some help.
Dinner is as awkward as you'd imagine. Chen Mian keeps making these snarky, passive-aggressive comments aimed at Luo Man. He’s also clearly clocked that Fang Chi is into Luo Man and keeps trying to "warn" Fang Chi off. Fang Chi tries to defend Luo Man, but she stops him and tells Chen Mian to just spit it out if he has something to say.
Right then, the family nanny brings in a package, saying it’s from Chen Mian's hometown. Chen Kaixi sees the gift and looks totally panicked. It’s a pair of baby shoes. She quickly makes an excuse about suddenly feeling unwell, tells everyone to leave, and sends the nanny away too. Once it's just her and Chen Mian, Chen Kaixi loses it. Those shoes? They were meant for their child, but Chen Mian’s family got the message wrong. Ouch. What a mess!
