Episode Summary
Chen Kaixi, no longer fooled by Chen Mian's lies, confronted him, revealing his deceptions were known and that Zhong Qingcheng had helped expose him. Feigning forgiveness earlier, Chen Kaixi had gathered evidence and presented Chen Mian with divorce papers demanding a significant portion of his company shares. When he refused, she revealed her leverage: Luo Man was at Zhou Musun's house, ready to sabotage Chen Mian's upcoming IPO if he didn't sign. Cornered, Chen Mian signed, ending their marriage. Later, Chen Kaixi, Zhong Qingcheng, and Luo Man celebrated their successful plan, which involved Zhong Qingcheng gaining Chen Mian's trust to secure evidence. Despite the victory and financial gain, Chen Kaixi was heartbroken, mourning the genuine love she once had for Chen Mian.

So, Chen Mian was still trying his slick-talking routine on Chen Kaixi, but honey, she was already several steps ahead. Turns out, Chen Kaixi was clued into everything Chen Mian had blabbed to Zhong Qingcheng. And get this – Zhong Qingcheng’s meeting with Chen Mian? Totally a setup! She was there on behalf of Chen Kaixi, trying to suss out Chen Mian’s true colors. Of course, Chen Mian, ever the victim in his own story, accused Zhong Qingcheng of trying to stir the pot and drive a wedge between him and Chen Kaixi. He desperately tried to spin more lies, claiming Zhong Qingcheng was the one talking nonsense to break up his happy home.
But Chen Kaixi wasn't buying it anymore. Not for a second. She was visibly disgusted, even shouting at him, absolutely sickened that he was still trying to lie and dodge responsibility.
The truth bomb? Chen Kaixi had been over his games for a while. Her recent "forgiveness" act was all a charade to get Chen Mian to let his guard down. And boy, did it work. With the trap set, Chen Kaixi didn't waste any time whipping out the divorce papers she had ready to go. Chen Mian took one look at the terms and balked. Why? Because if he signed, Chen Kaixi would walk away with a hefty chunk of his company shares – we're talking hundreds of millions here! This was exactly what Chen Mian had tried to avoid when he sneakily transferred shares to Zhang Fan to keep them out of Chen Kaixi's reach. He probably thought if he just refused to sign, Chen Kaixi would be stuck.
Wrong again, buddy. Chen Kaixi had an ace up her sleeve. She coolly informed Chen Mian that Luo Man was currently at Zhou Musun's place. If he didn't sign on the dotted line, Luo Man would use Zhou Musun’s phone to send out a little message. The consequence? Chen Mian’s company IPO dreams for the next day would go up in smoke. This whole power play was a meticulously crafted plan by the women, designed to leave Chen Mian with absolutely no way out. Still skeptical, Chen Mian snatched up his phone and called Zhou Musun, only to have Luo Man answer. Checkmate. With all his escape routes blocked, a defeated Chen Mian had no choice but to sign the divorce papers. And just like that, with the stroke of a pen, their relationship was officially history.
Meanwhile, Luo Man had cleverly used "let's finish this puzzle" as an excuse to stay late at Zhou Musun's. Once she got the signal that the mission was accomplished, she made her excuses and headed home. Back at his place, after the "bell tolled" (metaphorically, on his marriage and finances), Chen Mian was absolutely livid, realizing he was out hundreds of millions to Chen Kaixi.
But elsewhere, it was celebration time! The three women – Chen Kaixi, Zhong Qingcheng, and Luo Man – gathered, toasting to their perfectly executed plan. Chen Kaixi finally got what she rightfully deserved. She made sure to thank Zhong Qingcheng. It came out that Chen Kaixi and Luo Man had figured out Zhong Qingcheng was in contact with Chen Mian (initially, Zhong Qingcheng didn't even realize the guy she was gaming with online was Chen Mian). Zhong Qingcheng then used this connection to help Chen Kaixi earn Chen Mian’s trust and, crucially, gather evidence against him. All the while, Chen Kaixi played the part of the docile, forgiving wife, secretly rummaging through the house for proof when Chen Mian wasn't looking. That's how she managed to find the smoking gun – the proxy share agreement – which became the ultimate trump card to bring Chen Mian down when he least expected it.
They clinked glasses, reminiscing about how flawlessly their scheme, largely masterminded by Luo Man, had unfolded. The three women had truly turned the tables. Yet, even amidst the victory cheers, there was an undercurrent of unease. For Chen Kaixi, especially, the win was bittersweet. Sure, she got the money she was owed, but she had once poured her heart and soul into her relationship with Chen Mian. She had genuinely loved him, even going against her family’s wishes to be with him. This ending, however financially favorable, wasn't the happy one she'd hoped for. As these emotions surfaced, Chen Kaixi broke down in tears, finding comfort in Luo Man's embrace. What a takedown, but what a cost.
