Episode Summary
Luo Man firmly ends any possibility of a romantic relationship with Zhou Musun. Meanwhile, Chen Kaixi seemingly reconciles with her manipulative husband, Chen Mian, after he offers a deceptive divorce settlement, leading to a major fallout between her and Luo Man. Chen Mian, believing he has successfully outplayed everyone and secured his IPO, continues his affair with Zhong Qingcheng. However, the episode culminates in a shocking twist: Chen Kaixi reveals to Luo Man that she has been secretly investigating Chen Mian and has gathered incriminating evidence against him, just as his company celebrates its public listing.

So, Zhou Musun is still trying to woo Luo Man, even setting her up with a new screenwriter who's actually keen on her script. But Luo Man is keeping him at arm's length, and it's pretty clear the spark, if there ever truly was one, is fizzling out. Their strolls are now more awkward silence than sweet nothings. Zhou Musun tries to spark conversation, but Luo Man isn't really engaging. She even hands back the flowers he gave her – ouch. He angles for another movie night at his place to finish that film they started; she initially refuses but eventually agrees. This time, though, there's no cuddling on the couch – they're sitting separately. Clear signal, right?
Just as Zhou Musun tries to get sentimental, reminiscing about childhood to win her over, Chen Kaixi calls. Turns out, Chen Kaixi is still planning to stick it out with Chen Mian, which sends Luo Man into a rage. After the call, Zhou Musun gently advises Luo Man to stay out of their marital drama. Later, Zhou Musun makes a grand gesture, trying to gift Luo Man a pricey necklace. She turns it down flat. Yep, that door is officially closed. Luo Man hands back the necklace and walks out, leaving Zhou Musun to ponder what might have been.
Meanwhile, Chen Kaixi is supposedly gearing up to leave Chen Mian. She even takes their child to school alone, and the kiddo is visibly bummed not to see dad. That evening, Chen Mian presents her with divorce papers... but here's the kicker: he's signed over most of their assets to her. He claims it's a "guarantee" of his sincerity and that he truly doesn't want to split. Initially firm, Chen Kaixi, bless her heart, starts to waver under his manipulative charm.
The next morning, Luo Man swings by to see Chen Kaixi, only to find her and Chen Mian looking surprisingly cozy. Luo Man is, understandably, baffled and furious. Chen Kaixi tries to explain it away, saying she's doing it for their child, but Luo Man isn't buying this sudden flip-flop and Chen Kaixi's perceived weakness. The two besties have another massive blowout, and as Luo Man storms off, Chen Mian, watching from his car, can barely contain his smirk. He's loving this.
Things get even messier when both Luo Man and Chen Kaixi air their grievances about each other on social media. Chen Mian sees this and is practically crowing with delight, thinking his plan to isolate Chen Kaixi has worked perfectly. He's so confident, he even adds Chen Kaixi and their child back to his "important people" list (or whatever that list signifies!).
Luo Man later has dinner with Zhou Musun, who's aware of the fresh drama. Luo Man declares she's shifting her focus entirely to her career – a clear sign she's still fuming about Chen Kaixi.
Back home, Chen Mian is playing the doting father and loving husband, bathing their child and creating an illusion of domestic bliss with Chen Kaixi. He's convinced he's got Chen Kaixi wrapped around his little finger. He even meets up with Zhang Fan and, surprisingly, Zhou Musun, to secretly celebrate the "success" of their scheme. But Chen Mian isn't done being shady. Still utterly unrepentant, he invites Zhong Qingcheng for a hike, and she agrees. During their outing, he once again suggests they get together. Zhong Qingcheng, however, remains evasive, neither accepting nor outright rejecting him.
Fast forward to Chen Mian's company going public – it's roadshow and bell-ringing time! And who's there, all smiles for the cameras? Chen Kaixi and their child. Luo Man and Zhong Qingcheng are watching the whole spectacle live.
But hold on! Here comes the spoilerific twist: it turns out that the night before this grand IPO, Chen Kaixi had secretly met with Luo Man. And she didn't come empty-handed – she presented Luo Man with the results of her investigation into Chen Mian, complete with incriminating photos!
