Panic, Ultimatums, and Family Politics

The Case of the Missing Kids

A peaceful day in the neighborhood takes a terrifying turn when Mei Chengyi, distracted by a work call, loses sight of his children, Yu An and Yu Le. He frantically searches for them, even running to his in-laws' house, but finds no trace. Just as he's about to call the police, Youyou appears, holding the hands of the two children, who are happily munching on snacks. It turns out she saw them playing alone and took them to a local shop, but her attempts to inform Mei Chengyi were lost while he was on the phone.

A New Dad on the Horizon?

The incident seems to soften Xu Kaixin's stance on Mei Chengyi. While chatting with her friend, Sister Lili, the idea of bringing Mei Chengyi home for "inspection" comes up. Kaixin sharply retorts, "That's what you used to say about Qian Hao." Unbeknownst to them, her children are listening from the bedroom. Her daughter, Xiaomi, asks her older brother, Dami, if they're getting a new father. With wisdom beyond his years, Dami calmly replies, "An uncle is always an uncle. But if he's good to Mom, he's a good uncle."

The Price of a Reunion

Desperate to maintain appearances for an upcoming class reunion, Qian Hao approaches his ex-wife, Hu Xiaojiao, to play the part of a happy couple. If their son, Dami, returns home upset, Qian Hao forfeits the money. When he tries to negotiate the price down, Kaixin immediately raises it to eight thousand yuan. Left with no choice, Qian Hao transfers the money, staring at his phone with a bitter laugh and muttering that this visit is costing him more than an acting gig.

Deception and Danger

The episode is rife with deception. At the dinner table, Youyou's father complains about Mei Chengyi constantly bringing the kids around. To placate him, Youyou spins a tale about landing a high-level management job at a state-owned enterprise, overseeing thousands of people. Her father, thrilled, opens a bottle of wine to celebrate her "success."

At the same time, Hu Xiaojiao is becoming more entangled with her online chat partner, "Tianya." She repeatedly asks for his true identity, but he remains evasive and mysterious. She is completely unaware that she is walking directly into a classic "pig-butchering scam," a romance-based fraud designed to exploit her financially.

Lingering Questions:

As Hu Xiaojiao falls deeper into the "Tianya" trap, how long will it be before she uncovers the scam? And with Xu Kaixin slowly warming up to Mei Chengyi, what kind of drama will erupt when she and Qian Hao inevitably cross paths at his class reunion?
