Episode Summary
The episode sees continued misunderstandings and clashes between Mei Chengyi and Xu Kaixin during their disastrous blind date, orchestrated in part by Youyou's father's meddling. Mei Chengyi's negative impression of Xu Kaixin is relayed to the matchmaker, Li Xiaoxiao, who fiercely defends her friend. Meanwhile, Qian Hao navigates his complicated family life, making empty promises to his daughter Dami and placating his current partner Hu Xiaojiao. Dami's arrival at Qian Hao's home creates tension, and a chance encounter at a mall leads to a public confrontation between Li Xiaoxiao and Hu Xiaojiao, with Dami surprisingly siding against her mother's friend.

Youyou's father coaches his two granddaughters to fake a stomach ache, intending to use this to deceive Mei Chengyi and ruin his date with another woman. Meanwhile, Xu Kaixin, already prejudiced against Mei Chengyi, views all his words and actions as insincere. Not easily fooled, Xu Kaixin artfully dodges any substantive conversation with him.
Xu Kaixin receives a call and quickly ends it after a few brief words. From her short exchange, Mei Chengyi deduces she was talking about a child and the child's father. As a father himself, Mei Chengyi feels Xu Kaixin shouldn't be instilling negative thoughts about fathers in her child, a sentiment Xu Kaixin heatedly refutes.
Before Mei Chengyi can respond, his father-in-law calls, and he steps aside to answer. Youyou's father lies, claiming both granddaughters have a stomach ache simultaneously. Mei Chengyi says he needs to go back to get them, only to then receive a message from Youyou revealing that his father-in-law is lying to sabotage his date. Mei Chengyi is left speechless.
Mei Chengyi's first impression of Xu Kaixin is poor. Before leaving, he even asks to pack up his share of the food they ordered, which, in Xu Kaixin's eyes, is another classic example of a cheapskate. Back in his car, Mei Chengyi contacts Li Xiaoxiao, asking her to screen his blind dates more carefully next time to avoid wasting everyone's time and money. Just when the matter seems closed, Mei Chengyi can't resist sending a voice message to Li Xiaoxiao, his words dripping with disdain for Xu Kaixin.
As Xu Kaixin's good friend, Li Xiaoxiao is the first to lose her temper. She immediately calls Mei Chengyi and gives him an earful before abruptly hanging up. Stunned by the verbal lashing, Mei Chengyi pulls over and tries to call Li Xiaoxiao back, but she hangs up on him. Li Xiaoxiao then refunds his membership fee, which Mei Chengyi readily accepts.
Qian Hao's father is also a serial cheater. Even in his old age, he’s still philandering and returns home beaten black and blue. Worried that Qian Hao might abandon her for another woman in the future, Hu Xiaojiao forces him to swear an oath. Qian Hao, ever ready with sweet talk for women, easily makes promises, which doesn't stop his scoundrel-like behavior.
Youyou's father finds himself completely unable to cope with his granddaughters' foreign language lessons. He calls Youyou for help, but Youyou is the type who won't lift a finger without payment. Youyou's father gets angry and says some harsh things, leading Youyou to hang up on him. Youyou's mother criticizes her husband for his hurtful words, reminding him that after the tragedy of their eldest daughter's death, having their children alive and well is more important than anything.
Dami arrives with her suitcase to stay with Qian Hao. Qian Hao, needing to maintain a relationship with her to connect with his son, Xiaomi, has to feign being a doting father. The original children's room has been converted into a walk-in closet by Hu Xiaojiao, so Dami ends up sleeping on the sofa that night. Xu Kaixin picks up a drunk Li Xiaoxiao from a bar. Back home, she finds time to video call Dami, but Dami doesn't answer the video. They talk on the phone instead, and Dami is disappointed to learn that Xu Kaixin has stopped all her tutoring classes.
In the morning, Dami mentions this to Qian Hao, who boasts that he will pay for her classes. This amounts to sixty thousand yuan, a sum Qian Hao didn't discuss with Hu Xiaojiao. Angry, Hu Xiaojiao storms off to their room. Qian Hao quickly follows to console her, playing the role of a deeply affectionate man. Hu Xiaojiao, susceptible to his charms, has a swift change of heart and agrees to everything.
After finishing her work at the cake shop in the morning, Li Xiaoxiao takes Xu Kaixin shopping and for beauty treatments at a mall. They coincidentally run into Qian Hao and Hu Xiaojiao, who are also shopping with Qian Dami. Li Xiaoxiao can't hold back and confronts Hu Xiaojiao, calling her a homewrecker. Unexpectedly, Dami sides with Hu Xiaojiao, acting ungratefully. Xu Kaixin, unwilling to get upset over people who are hardly relevant to her life, pulls Li Xiaoxiao away to continue with their beauty treatments.
