Plot Synopsis
Set in thepivotal late 1990s, this series follows Liu Jun (played by Zhang Xincheng), a brilliant engineer who returns to his hometown of Donghai after completing his studies in Germany. He arrives to find his father's business, the old Qianjin Machinery Factory, on the brink of collapse. Driven by a sense of duty and a vision for the future, Liu Jun takes on the monumental task of reviving the family enterprise.
His ambition is to do more than just save the factory; he aims to transform it into a cutting-edge manufacturingpowerhouse, guided by technological innovation and self-reliance. Thepath forward is fraught with challenges. Liu Jun must navigate the complexities of the domestic business environment, a world away from his experiences in Europe, while simultaneously tackling formidable technical barriers. The story chronicles his difficult but determined evolution from a hands-on engineer into a strategic business leader.
Amidst hisprofessional struggles, Liu Jun’s father, Liu Shitang, arranges a blind date for him with Cui Bingbing, a sharpand refreshingly direct loan officer. Though initially resistant to the setup, Liu Jun finds himself drawn to her intelligence and character. As he fights to reinvent the factory—rebranding it as the successful Tengfei Factory—his relationshipwith Bingbing blossoms, growing from a hesitant meeting into a stable and loving marriage.
