Episode Summary
Following an assassination attempt, Gu Yuan and Li Song'er feign his injury to draw out the mastermind behind the attack. The ruse forces them to share a bed, where their feelings for each other deepen. Meanwhile, a drunken Baili inadvertently causes Lin Pi to nearly reveal her identity as a woman. The plot intensifies when Li Song'er realizes the friendly Baili shares the same name and face as a man from her past in Zuimeng City, leading her to question his true identity and motives, all while Gu Yuan watches from the shadows.

The episode picks up after Gu Yuan's abrupt kiss and his cold dismissal of Li Song'er's "mediocre" skills. As a furious Li Song'er storms out, she realizes Gu Yuan was putting on a show—he referred to himself with the formal title of "this young master" and called her "Sister Chu," a clear sign he was acting for a hidden audience. She rushes back to find him fighting a masked assassin. To expose his enemy's fighting style, Gu Yuan intentionally takes a blow, feigning a serious injury. After the assassin retreats, he reveals his plan to Li Song'er: the attacker's moves were a poor imitation of the Jingyun Mountain Manor style, meaning they actually belong to the Fengyu Valley clan. His "injury" is a trap to lure the mastermind out into the open.
To maintain the illusion of their marriage, Gu Yuan and Li Song'er are forced to share a bed. While a spy watches from outside, Gu Yuan pulls her close and kisses her on the forehead, but he doesn't let go even after the coast is clear, hinting at his growing affection. In another part of the estate, a nightmare jolts Baili awake; he dreamt that Lin Pi attacked someone in a rage over Gu Yuan's marriage. Shaken, he insists Lin Pi drink with him, only to pass out from the alcohol himself.
The next morning, Baili wakes with a splitting headache to find that Lin Pi has prepared a hangover soup. Touched, he blurts out, "If you were a woman, I would marry you." A flustered Lin Pi turns away, her reddened ears giving away her secret: she is, in fact, the young mistress of Jingyun Mountain Manor, disguised as a man.
Later, while walking through a garden, a silk tree flower petal lands in Li Song'er's hair. Gu Yuan gently brushes it away, promising to watch the "flower rain" with her again next year. Their tender moment is interrupted by Zhou Heng, who arrives under orders to probe the authenticity of their marriage. The pair effortlessly play the part of doting newlyweds. Li Song'er voices her suspicion that Zhou Heng was the assassin, but Gu Yuan dismisses the idea, noting the man lacks the necessary skill. This leads Li Song'er to a shocking conclusion: "Then the only one left is Uncle Bai!"
The plot thickens when Baili arrives with a wedding gift. Li Song'er is stunned to see that he is identical in name and appearance to a man she was once set up with in Zuimeng City. During that encounter, she used a "truth-telling incense" to discover he was a hopeless mama's boy. However, this Baili shows no sign of recognizing her. Inside a hidden compartment in the gift box, Li Song'er discovers a jade pendant—a keepsake from her past in Zuimeng City.
She chases after Baili but instead finds Chu Meng Die. Li Song'er confides everything: the assassination attempt, her suspicions about the culprit, and her strange history with the two Bailis, insisting she only wants answers. That night, Chu Meng Die arranges a meeting with Baili. As Li Song'er confronts him about his identity, Gu Yuan emerges from the shadows, revealing he has been watching them all along.
