Episode Summary
A dam collapse forces Wu Si and his team, followed by reporter Tang Xin, into a perilous relief mission where they form a human wall to stop the flood. "Rose and Gun" Episode 11 Spoilers
The episode opens with Tang Xin tending to Wu Si's injuries, her concern evident. Wu Si, in turn, advises her to avoid putting herself in dangerous situations, recalling a time she risked her safety to save someone during an interview. Elsewhere, Han Yuhang grows suspicious of his brother, believing he has a secret email account, and orders someone to investigate its owner.
Meanwhile, Lan Yangyang is fraught with worry for Zong Qing. Distracted, she aimlessly flips through TV channels, desperate for any news about him. She goes as far as begging her mother to persuade her father to let her go to the disaster relief site, but her mother wisely refuses, knowing she would only be in the way.
The situation escalates when Wu Si receives an urgent command. Continuous rainfall has caused a dam to collapse, and he must lead his already exhausted team to plug the breach. As a reporter, Tang Xin follows them, documenting their heroic efforts. As they work, the current becomes dangerously strong, making it impossible to place sandbags effectively. Fearing a wider collapse, Wu Si makes a critical decision: he leads his men into the freezing floodwaters, forming a human wall to slow the torrent and buy time for the reinforcement team.
Seeing Wu Si leap into the raging water, Tang Xin impulsively follows, jumping in to stand with him against the flood. Their combined efforts pay off, and the dam is secured, leading to cheers of relief from the soldiers.
Still determined to reach Zong Qing, Lan Yangyang approaches Tang Xin's boss, Director Tian, and manages to get a ride with a supply convoy heading to the disaster zone. At the site, she finally finds Zong Qing, thanks to his subordinates Xia Mo and Yi Nanwang. She rushes to embrace him, but instead of the tender reunion she imagined, she is met with Zong Qing's angry rebukes. Heartbroken, she stumbles away and runs into Tang Xin, breaking down in her arms.
In a quiet moment, Wu Si finds Tang Xin and finally admits that he was the one who had saved her in a previous incident. Tang Xin isn't surprised, confessing she had suspected it was him. With hope in her eyes, she asks him about the future of their relationship, which had started as a mission arrangement.
Side stories also unfold. Bai Zijian's mother arrives in Wenzhou, pleased to hear that he and his wife, Wang Chen, are trying for a child. However, once his mother is gone, Wang Chen confronts Bai Zijian for lying, as they both know their chances of conceiving are extremely low.
After the successful flood relief mission, the troops return to a hero's welcome. Back home, Tang Xin shocks her parents by telling them that she and Wu Si will no longer be dating, dashing their hopes of a blossoming romance. The episode closes with Wu Si sitting alone on a lawn, looking at the bandage Tang Xin applied, lost in the memory of her care.
