Double Fugue - Episode 15 Spoilers
After a night together, Lu Li waits for Qin Yuebai to fall asleep under an apple tree. He then takes a VIP card from her bag, using it to access the confidential core of her gallery. There, he finds and copies transaction records between Su Shilun and an agent named Sun Yiming.
With this crucial evidence in hand, Lu Li directly contacts Sun Yiming, who was privy to the dealings between Lu Li's father, Lu Xiuyuan, and Su Shilun. Lu Li sends a text message to Sun Yiming, signing it with his father's name, which sends a chill down Sun Yiming's spine. When they meet, Lu Li reveals his true identity as Lu Xiuyuan's son and demands to know the truth behind his parents' deaths.
Sun Yiming reveals a startling piece of information: seventeen years ago, Lu Li's father and Su Shilun had a violent argument. Shortly after, Lu Xiuyuan got into Su Shilun's car, which was then involved in a fatal accident. Sun Yiming confesses his suspicion that the crash was no accident, but a murder orchestrated by Su Shilun, who likely tampered with the vehicle beforehand.
Learning his parents' deaths were likely a homicide, Lu Li is consumed by the need for revenge. Sun Yiming offers to help him take down Su Shilun, noting that Lu Li is too "naive" to face such a formidable enemy alone. However, the wily Sun Yiming has a condition: Lu Li must help him acquire the gallery. Sun Yiming has long coveted the gallery's land to build a resort, but Qin Yuebai has repeatedly refused to sell.
As time passes with no action from Lu Li, Sun Yiming grows impatient. His plans are further complicated when Qin Yuebai's stepmother approaches him with a much better offer for the gallery. As a ruthless businessman, Sun Yiming doesn't hesitate to accept her proposal to get his hands on the property quickly.
When Lu Li learns of Sun Yiming's side deal, he confronts him in a rage. Sun Yiming shamelessly retorts that Lu Li has developed genuine feelings for his enemy's daughter, Qin Yuebai, making him incapable of acting decisively, and that he simply found a more reliable path.
Meanwhile, Qin Yuebai is under constant pressure from Sun Yiming's incessant calls to sell the gallery. Though business has been slow, the gallery holds immense sentimental value as it embodies her mother's hard work and passion. She confides in Lu Li, who is pained to hear how much stress Sun Yiming is causing her.
The situation escalates when Qin Yuebai receives a frantic call from her assistant: Sun Yiming has arrived at the gallery with a large group of people, armed with a contract to finalize the acquisition. Qin Yuebai is stunned, as she never signed any such agreement.
Elsewhere, Su Shilun, believing Qin Yuebai is behind the hostile takeover, smashes his wine glass in fury, regretting that he was so blind. All the while, the stepmother feigns outrage, calling Qin Yuebai an ungrateful traitor, secretly delighting in the chaos she has orchestrated.
