Episode 3: A Saintess in Disguise

Episode 3 of begins with the Cloud Sect sect guessing that the Shengyue Cult is behind the recent kidnappings of children. Wang Yue overhears this and gets really mad, jumping in to defend the cult. Yang Qing also catches this argument. When Wang Yue spots him, she asks for his opinion, but he gives a vague, non-committal answer. Fed up, she storms off, deciding to investigate the case by herself.

She ends up at a tavern where a storyteller is also trashing the Shengyue Cult, even getting a tip from the wealthy Miss Lu of Biluo Valley for it. However, some other guys in the tavern start defending the cult. Miss Lu gets nasty with them, but Wang Yue steps in and shuts her down. Humiliated, Miss Lu draws her sword to teach Wang Yue a lesson, but Yang Qing shows up just in time to knock the sword away. Seeing Yang Qing, Miss Lu's attitude completely changes, and she gets all happy. She tries to stop Yang Qing from leaving with Wang Yue, but the men from earlier back Wang Yue up, saying she did nothing wrong.

Meanwhile, we learn that a woman named Yao Fu has reappeared. She's been missing ever since the Shengyue Cult was destroyed. Turns out, she's the one who destroyed the cult to avenge her mother. Now, she's planning to leave the Cloud Sect sect to master her family's "Floating Life Curse." Her father's former student, Xiao Bai, tries to stop her, explaining that the curse is likely what killed her father. The whole feud started because her father stole the curse, which filled him with dark thoughts. He heard the Shengyue Cult's "Holy Moon Order" could cure him, and that's what led to all the trouble. Yao Fu admits she's felt something off with her powers lately but brushes it off.

Later, Yang Qing and Wang Yue are drinking and talking on a rooftop. A very drunk Wang Yue is acting cute and almost slips and falls. Yang Qing catches her and flies them both safely to the ground. She's so unsteady that she nearly kisses him, openly admitting how much she admires him and even muttering his name in her sleep. The next morning, Yang Qing hears that a certain Master Chen has shown up with a bunch of thugs, and Wang Yue is gone. He immediately worries she's been taken.

Yang Qing rushes over to Master Chen's place, only to find Wang Yue standing there holding a sword. For a second, her silhouette looks just like the Saintess of the Shengyue Cult. The moment she sees Yang Qing, she drops the sword and plays the victim. Yang Qing tries to question Master Chen about the missing kids, but he won't talk. After Wang Yue scares him a bit, he's about to spill the beans when an assassin suddenly appears, kills him, and then kills himself.

Yang Qing is annoyed by Wang Yue's clinginess, which reminds him of how the Saintess used to chase after him. Just then, Yao Fu arrives. Seeing her, Wang Yue attacks immediately to get her revenge but is easily overpowered. Yang Qing has to step in to save her. He later talks to Yao Fu, revealing that he's figured out Wang Yue is the Saintess. He gets Yao Fu to promise she'll leave her alone. Wang Yue wanted to leave, but she decides to stay to prove she can beat Yao Fu. As Yang Qing's group leaves town (without telling Wang Yue), they overhear that the Shengyue Cult used to give aid to local beggars, making them wonder if they were wrong about the cult all along.
