"Hide Games" Episode 10: The Walls Close In
Episode 10 of Hide Games begins in an interrogation room, and the tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. Wang Jian is keeping an eye on Han Xu, who seems more curious than scared. He casually asks about the driver from that car crash, and Wang Jian slides a report across the table. The cause of death? "Accidental." Han Xu just scoffs. He sees right through it and tells Wang Jian that every person who dies for his boss is just another blade hanging over Wang Jian's own neck, waiting to drop.
Wang Jian tries to play it cool, insisting his team is solid, but his eyes give him away. Seeing his chance, Han Xu asks the one question that really matters: Did Chen Yaxin sell me out? Wang Jian says nothing, and his silence is the only answer Han Xu needs.
Soon after, Han Xu is officially sent to the South Suburb Prison, with Wang Jian personally escorting him. He watches as Han Xu is cuffed and led through the heavy iron gates. Inside, Han Xu is stripped of his belongings, hosed down, and thrown into a prison uniform. He's then shoved into Cell No. 4, where the local boss, a guy named Zhang Laoda, immediately tries to teach him a lesson. It doesn't go well for them. Han Xu easily handles everyone they throw at him, which lands him a stay in solitary confinement for the trouble.
When he gets out, word has spread. Other cell bosses come looking for a fight, and Han Xu takes them all down, one by one. Before long, even Zhang Laoda is convinced. He and his crew accept Han Xu as their new leader.
Now in charge, Han Xu tells Zhang Laoda to get him a phone. He secretly calls his contact, Xiao Wu, who tells him he's got a new lead and they need to meet that night at the usual spot. Breaking out is the only option, and Han Xu needs Zhang Laoda's help. Zhang Laoda is about to be sentenced and only cares about his little sister. He gives Han Xu her address and bank info, asking him to get some money to her. Han Xu can tell Zhang Laoda is a stand-up guy and promises to make sure she's safe.
The plan is simple: Zhang Laoda and his guys start a massive riot to create a distraction. In the middle of the chaos, Han Xu slips away. Once he's clear, he pulls out the note with the sister's information. He opens it and reads the name: Zhang Ahua.
