Hide Games: A Mole in the Ranks?
Episode 9 of Hide Games begins with Han Xu standing alone in an abandoned building after Chief Zhou and his team have left. He's staring out the window, replaying conversations in his head, especially Chief Zhou's warning: "Make the right choice, and the truth will come out; choose wrong, and it's game over." With so much uncertainty, he feels that Chen Yaxin is the only person he can still trust.
Meanwhile, Chen Yaxin is having a tense face-to-face with Wang Jian. He claims everything he's done is to protect Han Xu, but she isn't buying it. When Han Xu calls her, she cleverly pretends to end the call but keeps the line open, allowing Han Xu to eavesdrop on her conversation with Wang Jian.
Since Wang Jian can't legally hold Chen Yaxin any longer, he sends two officers to "escort" her home, claiming it's for her safety, but it's clearly a surveillance tactic. Han Xu quickly gets in touch with Zhang A-hei to pull up traffic camera footage, keeping a close eye on Chen Yaxin and her daughter and asking for key audio to be extracted.
Back at her apartment, the two officers insist on coming inside to do a "security check." This is where Han Xu's plan kicks in. He manages to lure one of the officers away, then uses a recording of that officer's voice to draw the second one out. With both of them distracted, he overpowers them and locks them in the bathroom.
With the immediate threat handled, Han Xu confesses something shocking to Chen Yaxin. He's been having flashes of memory, and they all point to an unbelievable possibility: he might be a mole planted in the police force by Wang Mingcheng. It's a crazy thought, but he knows the real truth is buried somewhere in his fragmented memories.
Seeing how much he's struggling, Chen Yaxin softly tells him that no matter what happens, she will wait for him. But the moment of calm is shattered. As Han Xu turns to leave, he finds Wang Jian standing right outside the door. At the exact same time, a hooded figure appears and shoots Zhang A-hua, who collapses instantly.
