Episode Summary
In a risky move to jog Han Xu's memory, Chief Zhou stages a controlled fall from a rooftop, which brings back fractured memories of a past betrayal involving Xiao Ran and the number "405." Meanwhile, Wang Jian secures Chen Yaxin's release and presses her for Han Xu's location, only to be confronted by her for altering their secret plans.

Hide Games Recap: The Fall
Episode 8 of Hide Games begins on a rooftop, where Han Xu is staring down a gunman who, to his surprise, is Team Leader Ma. At this point, Han Xu trusts no one and demands to know who Ma is really working for. Ma claims he's with the police, but Han Xu is sharp enough to know that the department wouldn't send just two people for an arrest. Ma’s cold smile in response suggests Han Xu might be too clever for his own good.
Meanwhile, Wang Jian personally bails Chen Yaxin out of the detention center. He brings her to the police station to "clarify a few things," assuring her that her daughter, Nuonuo, is being looked after. Once at the station, Chen Yaxin sees her daughter with a female officer, which finally puts her at ease, and she agrees to be questioned.
Back on the rooftop, the situation escalates. Team Leader Ma and his associate, Xiao Chen, push Han Xu off the building. As he plummets, fragmented memories flash through Han Xu's mind: he remembered trying to use chips to secure his and Xiao Ran's freedom, but Wang Chengming refused, revealing that Xiao Ran was a police informant. He also recalled being imprisoned in a villa, with the number "405" being the only clear detail.
Han Xu lands safely on a police inflatable rescue cushion. As he regains his senses, Chief Zhou approaches. Zhou explains that the entire fall was a setup designed to trigger his memory. Han Xu's original, near-fatal injury was also from being pushed from a great height. Chief Zhou admits that with dark undercurrents flowing through the police department, Han Xu is the only person he can truly trust, calling him the "cleanest" man on the force.
The episode then cuts to Chen Yaxin's interrogation. Wang Jian dismisses another officer, Xiao Li, claiming he wants to speak with Chen Yaxin informally as a friend. The moment they are alone, he urgently asks for Han Xu's whereabouts. However, Chen Yaxin doesn't answer, instead questioning Wang Jian about why he deviated from a plan they had previously agreed upon.
