A Test of Loyalty and a Shocking Reveal
You know, I thought I had Wang Mingcheng figured out. Turns out, not so much. This episode really throws a wrench in things, especially for Han Xu.
A Bloody Mess
The episode kicks off with Han Xu walking into a hotel room. It's not a pretty sight. Uncle Tai is dead on the floor. In the corner, you have Uncle Kun and Tila, both looking terrified. These two aren't small-time players. Kun handles the drug distribution for the city, and Tila runs the underground factories in Shahe.
Wang Mingcheng shows up and gives Han Xu a simple, brutal order. He tells Han Xu to kill them both if he wants to know the whole truth. It's a classic loyalty test. But Han Xu is smarter than that.
Han Xu's Gambit
Just as he's about to act, Han Xu stops. He lays out some cold, hard facts for Wang Mingcheng. He points out that Kun and Tila control the remaining 75% of his drug channels. This is a huge deal. The cops just took out Wang Mingcheng's main base of operations. He needs these guys now more than ever.
You can almost see the gears turning in Wang Mingcheng's head. He was ready to kill them to send a message. But Han Xu's logic is undeniable. Wang Mingcheng changes his mind. He decides to keep the two of them alive because they're still useful. Han Xu didn't just save their lives. He proved he's a valuable strategist.
A Botched Rescue
While all this is happening, Wang Jian and Sucha are on their own mission. They've pinpointed the hotel as a key location. They disguise themselves as cleaning staff and manage to sneak inside. At the same time, Han Xu slips into Wang Mingcheng's room.
The three of them meet up by accident. Wang Jian and Sucha are ready to pull Han Xu out of there. But just as they're about to make a move, they hear Wang Mingcheng's footsteps in the hallway. Wang Jian and Sucha dive for cover. Han Xu is left to handle the situation alone. He talks his way out of it, and Wang Mingcheng doesn't suspect a thing.
On the ride back, Wang Jian is clearly bothered. He went in there to save Han Xu. Instead, Han Xu ended up saving him. That's a tough pill to swallow.
The Truth Comes Out
Later, Wang Mingcheng sits down with Han Xu. He pulls out an old, yellowed photo album. It's filled with pictures of Han Xu as a little kid. Then comes the bombshell.
Wang Mingcheng finally tells him the truth. Han Xu was one of the kids they had kidnapped years ago to use as a drug mule. One day, Han Xu cleverly played dead to get out of a bad situation. This move impressed Wang Mingcheng. It showed him the kid was smart and a survivor.
So, Wang Mingcheng decided to adopt him. He gave him the name Wang Yu and raised him as his own godson. The name Han Xu came later, once he started school. This changes everything.
