Episode Summary
On the run from the police, Han Xu narrowly escapes a checkpoint and returns to his hotel, where the owner reports him. After confronting the owner, he flees again and seeks out Chen Yaxin, the only person he feels he can trust. During their tense conversation, Chen Yaxin realizes he has a second personality and kisses him in an attempt to ground him in reality.

A Narrow Escape
So, Han Xu is making a run for it. He's in a car, probably thinking he's in the clear for a second. Then he sees flashing police lights up ahead. Cops are checking cars. He doesn't hesitate. He just shoves the door open, jumps out, and vanishes into a dark alley. It’s a classic move, but it works.
He doubles back to the cheap little hotel he was hiding in before. Smart? Probably not. The owner is at the front desk, just reading a newspaper. She doesn't seem to care at all. But then she looks up. She sees his face. Then she glances at the wanted poster on the wall. Her eyes go wide. You can see the exact moment the fear hits. She immediately hands over the keys to his room.
The Hotel Owner Makes a Choice
Upstairs, Han Xu starts burning all his documents. As the papers turn to ash, we see these twisted flashes of his past. It’s all very dramatic. And, of course, his one-armed alter ego shows up right behind him. This guy is always lurking.
Down at the counter, the hotel owner isn't wasting any time. She picks up the phone and calls the Police Department. She tells them Han Xu is there. Team Leader Ma gets the call and says he's on his way with his team. But they take forever. The owner gets nervous and calls again to see what the holdup is. Bad move. Han Xu suddenly appears and hangs up the phone for her. His alter ego whispers in his ear, telling him to kill her. You know, to tie up loose ends. But Han Xu doesn't. He just leaves the room fee on the counter and gets out of there.
A Desperate Alliance
The Only Person Left
Han Xu walks quickly away from the hotel. He finds an old car he stashed earlier in an alley. He gets in and hot-wires it like a pro. A little photo of him and Xiao Ran hangs from the rearview mirror, shaking as the engine starts.And guess who's in the passenger seat? The one-armed alter ego is back, laughing at him. He tells Han Xu the photo is fake. He says there's no one in the world he can trust.
But Han Xu’s mind immediately goes to Chen Yaxin.It’s a weird thought. She has tricked him over and over. Still, he feels like she's the only person he can possibly ask for help.
A Shocking Revelation
He goes and finds her. He confronts her directly. He wants to know what her real game is. She doesn't really answer the question. Instead, she tells him she's different from the others. They all want his purification formula. She just wants him to come back.
This just makes Han Xu more confused. His alter ego is chattering away, making him agitated and anxious. Chen Yaxin is sharp, though. She notices he's reacting to someone who isn't there. She realizes he has a second personality, and the shock is written all over her face. The situation is getting tense. So, she does something completely unexpected. She leans in and kisses him. It's a desperate attempt to pull him back from the edge of his own mind.
