The Confrontation

The episode kicks off with Han Xu following Wang Yu's instructions. He drives alone to that same abandoned building in the old city district. You know the one. It's the exact spot where he supposedly fell. Before he gets there, he makes a smart move and calls Wang Jian to tell him where he's headed.

When Han Xu arrives, the scene is already set. Wang Yu is there, and he's got Chen Yaxin. He's holding her at gunpoint, forcing Han Xu to keep his distance. Han Xu immediately tries to play it cool. He insists Wang Yu has the wrong person. He claims he and Chen Yaxin barely know each other. It's a desperate play to protect her.

Wang Yu just laughs at him. He says Chen Yaxin is the person Han Xu loves most in the world. Then he threatens to push her off the roof.

The Floodgates Open

That threat is the key. It's what finally shatters Han Xu's broken memory. He clutches his head in pain, and suddenly everything comes rushing back. All the sealed-off memories break loose like a flood.

He remembers his real past. He sees his college days with Chen Yaxin, their romance, and their life after graduation. He remembers their marriage. He remembers their daughter, Nuonuo. The life he completely forgot is suddenly crystal clear.

At the same time, his fabricated memories rewrite themselves. The image of Xiao Ran as his lover vanishes. He now sees the truth. Wang Yu was the one making ice for Wang Mingcheng. The whole narrative he's been living has been a lie.

What Really Happened Two Months Ago

The show then jumps back two months to the day of the fall. We finally get the full story.

The Lab and the Informant

It turns out Wang Yu blamed Han Xu for Xiao Ran's death. That's why he kidnapped Chen Yaxin in the first place. Wang Yu was a master meth cook for Wang Mingcheng's operation. He was so good that Wang Mingcheng set him up with his own lab and made Xiao Ran his assistant.

But Xiao Ran hated these people. She grew up despising criminals and couldn't stand watching Wang Yu waste his life. So, she became Han Xu's informant. Wang Yu, who was always insecure about a physical disability, found his self-worth in being the best meth cook. When Han Xu led the raid that destroyed his lab, it broke him.

The Lie and the Revenge

Wang Mingcheng managed to escape the raid with Wang Yu and Jiu Ge. He then fed Wang Yu a devastating lie. He claimed that An Shaocong wanted Xiao Ran for himself and had kidnapped her. Wang Yu, completely believing this story, stormed An Shaocong's place. He found Xiao Ran was already dead. In a blind rage, he brutally killed An Shaocong.

But getting revenge didn't fix anything for Wang Yu. His anger was still there. He decided Han Xu needed to feel the same pain of losing someone he loves.

The Fall

This is what led to the original confrontation on the rooftop. Wang Yu's goal was to make Han Xu suffer. Han Xu fought back to protect his wife, Chen Yaxin. The struggle ended with both of them falling from the building, leading to Han Xu's amnesia and the start of this whole mess.
