Hide Games Episode 6: The Voice from the Past
Episode 6 of Hide Games begins with a guilty Zhang Ahua coming clean to Han Xu. She admits she has a crucial recording and, more importantly, has developed voiceprint analysis software that can pinpoint the caller's identity if given a sample to compare it with.
Wasting no time, Han Xu calls Wang Jian and then Xiao Wu. The software works its magic and confirms the mystery voice on the recording belongs to Xiao Wu. Just then, Xiao Wu, who already knows Han Xu is at Zhang Ahua’s place, calls and asks him to meet at an abandoned pier.
The moment they meet, an angry Han Xu throws a punch at Xiao Wu. Stumbling back, Xiao Wu quickly insists he is not the enemy. He then plays a recording for Han Xu—a message Han Xu himself left for Xiao Wu two months prior. In the message, Han Xu says he's found a lead on the mole in the Wang Chengming case. He warns that if anything should happen to him, the key evidence is hidden in "405."
Xiao Wu explains that ever since Han Xu's accident, he has searched every single place he could think of related to "405" but came up empty. He firmly believes Wang Jian is the real mole. Everything he’s done, he claims, was to help Han Xu get his memory back, convinced the critical evidence is locked away in Han Xu's mind.
Meanwhile, the police have Chen Yaxin under tight, 24/7 surveillance. Han Xu gets a message to her in a clever way: he mails her a bottle of liquor with the meeting address secretly written on the packaging. That night, Chen Yaxin tells her police detail she's going shopping for clothes. Inside the store, she uses a fitting room to change her outfit and manages to slip away unnoticed.
Han Xu takes her to a safe house that Xiao Wu had prepared. There, he asks her to put him under deep hypnosis while the old recording plays. As Han Xu's breathing steadies and his mind sinks into darkness, he suddenly finds himself in a bright, sunny field of flowers. His wife, Xiao Ran, wearing a dress, is smiling and running right toward him.
