The Walls Are Closing In
Alright, let's talk about this mess at Ming Lang hospital. It is getting wild.
Wen Yi Jia shows up ready for a fight. She's not just talking. She has paperwork. She tells Dong Yi Yan that her client, Mrs. Zhang, does not have stage-four liver cancer. The tests from Germany prove it. Wen Yi Jia then pulls out another report. This one is from an American lab. It shows the test reagents Ming Lang used were expired and faulty.
Lin Ying Jie hears this and you can see the panic in his eyes. He knows he's cooked. Dong Yi Yan, who seems to be in the dark, says they need more time to investigate. But Wen Yi Jia isn't having it. She tells Dong Yi Yan that her client is going to sue. She wants to stop this from happening to anyone else.
Cornered, Lin Ying Jie does what cowards do. He tries to throw Dong Yi Yan under the bus. He claims she was the one who wanted to fire Tom, so this whole thing is her fault. Dong Yi Yan just looks at him. She gave him a chance to come clean. He blew it.
Everyone Has an Angle
This whole situation is a web. Fang Xin is also getting nervous. She knows that if Dong Yi Yan digs too deep, the trail might lead back to her. We learn that Fang Xin and Lin Ying Jie have a history. She needs his vote to become the new chairman. So, she's tied to this disaster.
Dong Yi Yan later confronts Fang Xin. She tells her she already has evidence of their little scheme. It looks like Chen Li Xue is sticking with Dong Yi Yan through this.
Meanwhile, Wen Yi Jia gets a call from her dad. He tells her that suing the hospital is not what her late husband would have wanted. She disagrees. She believes he would have supported her for doing the right thing.
A Nasty Distraction
Things get personal and ugly. Wen Yi Jia finds out her stepdaughter, Hai Chun, never got on the plane to study abroad. She's missing. Fang Xin is behind it. She has bribed Hai Chun's nanny and friends. She wants to create a crisis to distract everyone from the hospital lawsuit.
Chen Li Xue tells Dong Yi Yan that Hai Chun is gone. They both immediately suspect it's a plot by Fang Xin. Wen Yi Jia is frantic. She drops everything she's working on to go find her daughter.
Hai Chun is at a bar with a friend, complaining about her stepmom. Suddenly, she feels dizzy. Two men start chasing her. Just in time, Wen Yi Jia shows up and saves her. For a second, Hai Chun sees that Wen Yi Jia really does care about her. The feeling doesn't last long, but it's a start.
