The Hospital Under Siege
The episode kicks off with Hai Chun sending her stepmom, Wen Yi Jia, out for food. This seems like a simple enough request. But when Wen Yi Jia gets downstairs, she walks right into a media frenzy. Reporters are everywhere.
It turns out Wang Qi Cheng is feeding them a story. He claims a caregiver was exposed to an infection. He assures them the hospital took all the right precautions to stop any spread. It’s a classic PR move. He’s trying to control the narrative before it spirals.

Ke Yongcheng's Scheme
While Wang Qi Cheng handles the press, he tells Peng Jian Bang to stay away from the hospital. He wants him to pretend he's sick and lay low. Peng Jian Bang is not happy about it. He's convinced Ke Yongcheng is the one pulling the strings.
Fang Xin sees the news report and immediately gets suspicious. This attack on Ming Lang is tanking their stock price. When her assistant confirms Ke Yongcheng is involved, she just smiles. She seems to think this makes things more interesting. Ke Yongcheng is happy with the chaos he's caused. He's also making a ton of money by shorting Ming Lang's stock.
Fang Xin Makes a Move
Fang Xin doesn't waste any time. She goes directly to Ke Yongcheng and confronts him. She calls him out for his dirty, underhanded tactics. Then, she offers him a deal. She asks him to back off Ming Lang just this once. In exchange, she promises to help him unconditionally with something else down the line. Ke Yongcheng thinks about it. He figures he has made enough money from this scheme, so he agrees.

Dong Yi Yan Takes Charge

She quickly gets to work allocating the hospital's limited resources. The doctors pull together and manage to stabilize the patients. In the middle of all this, Wang Qi Xin starts making a scene. Dong Yi Yan has no patience for it. She tells her to stop shouting and let them do their jobs to save lives. Wang Qi Xin actually seems to consider what she said.

She thinks Dong Yi Yan is just trying to clear her own guilty conscience. Dong Yi Yan insists she has done nothing wrong.
The Battle for Wang Jin Tao
Fang Xin decides to stir the pot some more. She tells Ms. Wan that Dong Yi Yan is only close to Wang Jin Tao for her own gain. Then she drops a bombshell. She reveals that she used to have a relationship with Wang Jin Tao, but Dong Yi Yan stole him from her. It adds another layer of drama. Even Dong Yi Yan herself seems confused about what Wang Jin Tao truly feels for her.
Hai Chun's Big Decision
Hai Chun uncovers a dark secret. She learns that Ke Yongcheng is using a patient as a tool for his schemes. This patient is a wanted fugitive from Thailand. This is the last straw for Hai Chun. She goes to her stepmother, Wen Yi Jia, and asks her to take on the case to expose the bad guys. In return, Hai Chun makes a huge promise. She will stay in Hong Kong and study medicine, fulfilling her late father's wish.
