The Doctor Finds More Than He Bargained For

A Secret Factory

The Old Chinese Doctor is a pretty sharp guy. He discovers a hidden door behind a cabinet. He checks to make sure no one is watching and goes inside. The room leads him deeper into a huge, empty space filled with barrels. He keeps exploring.

He eventually realizes it's a massive drug manufacturing plant. And who does he find there? His own student, San Ma Hu. The doctor plays dumb. He asks San Ma Hu if he's opening a medicine factory. San Ma Hu is surprised but goes along with the lie. He even gives his master a tour.

A Clever Message

San Ma Hu can't just let the doctor leave. He puts him in the back of a truck with a guard and they head out. The doctor notices his guard looks sick. He uses this as an opportunity. He offers to diagnose the guard and write him a prescription. While writing the "prescription," he secretly passes a message to his own apprentice, telling him about the drug factory.

A Trap Goes Sideways

The Deal to Kill Da Gou

Hua Long and Bing A Dou finally come to an agreement. Da Gou is in police custody and knows way too much. Hua Long will create a situation where the police have to move Da Gou. Bing A Dou's job is to intercept them and kill Da Gou during the transport. If they pull it off, they're officially partners. Bing A Dou is all in.

When Bing A Dou tells San Ma Hu the plan, San Ma Hu asks the doctor for his opinion. The doctor warns him against it. He says it's a messy plan and the police aren't stupid. But Bing A Dou is arrogant. He wants to prove he can handle it.

The Police Catch On

Hua Long sends a coded message to set the trap. The police, led by Zhan Peng, crack the code immediately. They know it's a setup. Around the same time, Tu Hongjiang gets the note from the doctor's apprentice about the abandoned factory. He sends a team to check it out.

Everything Falls Apart

The police show Da Gou that his younger brother, Er Gou, is safe with them. With that reassurance, Da Gou agrees to cooperate with their plan.

But Bing A Dou's crew is one step ahead. They stage a car crash to distract the cop watching Er Gou. They sneak in, knock out the guard, and kidnap the boy.

The final scene is brutal. Zhan Peng and Da Gou arrive at the train station for the setup. They find Er Gou there, but he's wearing a bomb. Da Gou desperately tries to talk his brother down. It's useless. From a distance, Bing A Dou presses the detonator. Er Gou is killed in the explosion. Mao Zi is horrified. He can't believe Bing A Dou would kill an innocent kid. He tries to shoot him, but his gun is gone. Bing A Dou had already stolen it.
