Episode Summary
In this episode, Ding Qi confirms Jiang Yuwen is alive and likely hiding nearby. He also deduces that a second person is aware of the time loop and is controlling Maggie. An Lan learns more about the dangerous drug her mother may have taken. The episode ends with the major revelation that Maggie is Jiang Yuwen's other daughter.

Jiang Yuwen is Alive
Ding Qi is getting bold. He sneaks out of Ye Kun’s place just before he gets home. He puts everything back exactly where he found it. You have to appreciate the attention to detail.
He then pulls his boss, Duan Zheng, and Huang Yuan into a late-night meeting. He wants to talk about the Jiang Yuwen case right in front of everyone. Huang Yuan immediately gets hostile. Duan Zheng steps in to defend Ding Qi.
This is where it gets good. Ding Qi plays the security footage from the lab. He shows them that six firefighters went into the building. But seven came out. He is certain that the extra person was Jiang Yuwen. He thinks Jiang hid inside a fireproof cabinet to survive the explosion. Duan Zheng is thrilled with this lead. Ding Qi gets the green light to use the city-wide "SkyNet" surveillance system. He bets Jiang Yuwen is hiding somewhere in the Hua'ao district.
The Players Move the Pieces
Maggie Arrives
Ding Qi drops by Mo Yuanzhi’s place. He notices Mo Yuanzhi is back to his old morning boxing routine. This is a big deal. It tells Ding Qi that the time loop has reset and is back on its original track.
Over at Mo Ma Group, An Lan can't pick up the big investor, Maggie. She's stuck at the nursing home. Mo Yuanzhi has a meeting he can't miss. So Ding Qi volunteers to do the airport run. It’s the perfect excuse to get close. He tells his partner, Gu Song, to keep an eye on Mo Yuanzhi’s meeting.
A Suspicious Past
Duan Zheng hands over Maggie’s background file to Ding Qi. On paper, she’s perfect. She has a great education and a flawless career. It’s almost too clean.
Her mother’s story is what really stands out. She was a housewife with very little education. Then, eight years ago, she supposedly won the lottery. She started making investments and her wealth just exploded. The family went from poor to middle class almost overnight. As for Maggie’s father, there is zero information. He’s a complete ghost.
Connections and Secrets
The Other Time-Walker
Ding Qi starts connecting the dots. He realizes Maggie has no memory of the highway car crash from the previous loops. He already knows Mo Yuanzhi's loop is back to normal. This leads him to a huge conclusion. There must be another person who can sense the time loop. And that person is backing Maggie's investment.
Deals in the Shadows
Things at Mo Ma Group are not going smoothly. Maggie arrives and wants to see the experimental lab immediately. At the same time, Yu Shiya changes her plans. She was supposed to be on the rooftop but shows up in the parking garage instead.
We learn she backed out of a deal with Han Yufei, changing her vote at the last minute. He is furious. He threatens her and successfully gets the password to the secret lab. Later, Ding Qi finds Han Yufei. He tells him they both want the same thing and that he should let the police handle whatever Mo Yuanzhi is hiding.
Han Yufei then reveals something important. He overheard Mo Yuanzhi and his brother Han Song arguing. Han Song wanted to sell his shares and get away from the company. When Han Yufei mentioned hearing about a secret lab, Han Song warned him to never speak of it again. After Han Song’s death, Han Yufei knew something was very wrong. Ding Qi just warns him again to stay out of it.
The Family Tree Gets Complicated
An Lan's Desperate Search
An Lan is doing her own digging at the nursing home. She asks for all of her mother’s medical records from the last three years. The doctor gets suspicious. He asks if she’s been giving her mother unapproved drugs. An Lan doesn’t answer.
The doctor warns her that these kinds of drugs have only temporary effects. He brings up a case from eight years ago. A patient with the exact same spinal tumor as her mother took a similar drug. Seven days later, the patient died in a hospice from full-body ulcers. This jogs An Lan's memory. She recalls her mother, Feng Wanqing, saying she was going to take a 50/50 chance to get better. She even saw a strange mark on her mother's hand during a video call.
The DNA Bombshell
Yu Peishan comes to Ding Qi with some massive news. She found out Jiang Yuwen had a daughter. He gave her up for adoption to a couple after his wife died. That daughter is Tang Xin.
But there’s another kid. During his time as a visiting scholar in the United States, Jiang Yuwen had a child with an Asian woman. Both the mother and child vanished. A lightbulb goes off for Ding Qi. He thinks of Maggie. He gives Yu Peishan the coffee cup Maggie used for a DNA test.
While they wait for the results, Ding Qi goes to talk to Tang Xin. The results come back fast. The test confirms that Maggie is Jiang Yuwen's biological daughter.
