Episode Summary
The Fang brothers reconcile and drop their lawsuit, but Zhijun vows revenge on the family, suspecting Fang Yangtian in her father's death. Fang Yangtian reveals he has terminal cancer and begins a secret investigation into his own car crash, uncovering a strange clue. After a health scare, his mother finds out about his illness and arranges for a doctor who gives him a slim hope of survival.

The Fang Family Truce
You knew it couldn't last. The fighting, I mean.
The episode kicks off right after the trial. Fang Xueli, looking like he’s carrying the weight of the world, tries to give the villa key to his younger brother, Fang Xueqin. It’s a peace offering.
But Xueqin doesn't take it. Instead, he brings up an old story from when they were kids. Apparently, Xueli once took the fall for something Xueqin did, earning him a beating from their dad. It’s a debt Xueqin feels he never repaid. Just then, the third brother, Fang Xuexian, walks up. Seeing his brothers not at each other's throats for once, he smiles and joins them.
The three of them head home together. They tell Old Mrs. Fang that they're dropping the lawsuit. They want to be a family again.
A Plot for Revenge
Of course, not everyone is on board with the family reunion.
Zhijun is watching all of this unfold, and she is not happy. She’s still convinced that Fang Yangtian had something to do with her father's death. That suspicion is eating her alive. Seeing the family make peace is the last straw for her. She decides right then and there. She’s going to get revenge on Fang Yangtian and his entire family.
Fang Yangtian's Secrets
An Old Debt and a New Illness
Fang Yangtian is feeling grateful for Gao Shen. We learn that while Yangtian was in a coma, he could hear his three sons arguing. It chilled him to the bone. But he also heard Gao Shen’s voice, which was a comfort. He feels like he owes the man. What he doesn't know is that he already repaid that debt years ago. Gao Shen had his law license revoked, and it was Yangtian who helped him get a stable job.
Later, the whole family is having a nice, peaceful dinner. Suddenly, the driver runs in, saying Yangtian passed out in the car. The family panics. But then Yangtian just walks in, claiming he fell asleep. During the meal, though, he tries to serve his mother some food and can't see properly for a moment. Jiang Huanqiu notices and quickly covers for him so Old Mrs. Fang doesn't see.
The act can't last forever. Yangtian finally tells his children the truth. He has terminal cancer. He's handing the company over to his three sons.
A Secret Investigation
The next day, business continues. Lin Cheng announces that Dong Youwei can come back to the company. The catch is he's now the manager of the general affairs department. It's a job with no power and no money.
Meanwhile, Fang Yangtian isn't resting. He secretly goes to Pengyang City, the place where his car crash happened. He's determined to find out who tried to kill him. The police have found some evidence. The weirdest part is a Fang family photo was among the items. This just confuses Yangtian even more.
As he and Gao Shen leave the police station, they run into Lin Cheng. She knew he would be there. She’s upset he’s putting himself in danger and hiding it from her.
A Desperate Search for a Cure
Yangtian and Gao Shen plan to travel to another city to continue the investigation. There's a problem. The high-speed rail line collapsed. Now they have to take a bus, which will take much longer. Lin Cheng begs Yangtian to give up the investigation. She's worried about his health. But he knows he doesn't have much time left and wants answers. Gao Shen steps in with a compromise. They'll wait three days for the train to be fixed and use the time to rest.
The secret of his illness doesn't stay quiet for long. Old Mrs. Fang finds out about her son's cancer from someone else. She immediately gets him an appointment with a highly-regarded Dr. Ye. To calm his mother down, Yangtian goes to the appointment with Lin Cheng and Jiang Huanqiu. Dr. Ye examines him and says there's only a 60% chance of curing the cancer.
Just after, a Mrs. Li invites Yangtian and his wife to Singapore. Old Mrs. Fang steps in. She decides Lin Cheng will go alone. Jiang Huanqiu needs to stay home to take care of Yangtian.
