Episode Summary

A Sudden Investigation and a Father's Worry
The episode kicks off with Gao Shen making a big move. He launches a surprise audit into the foundation run by Kwong Shan Tsuen's parents. The Kwong family is totally caught off guard. They immediately assume Gao Shen is attacking them directly. This just makes the bad blood between the Fang and Kwong families even worse.
Gao Shen then goes to get a signature from Fang Yangtian. He finds him with Lin Cheng, carefully fixing a music box. Gao Shen tells him he's working too hard and needs to rest. But Fang Yangtian just sighs, saying he doesn't have much time left. He feels guilty that he hasn't made Lin Cheng happy since they married. He hopes Chen Zhe will step up and do more for her.
What he doesn't know is that a serious threat is already in his house. The "Dr. Ye" treating him is a fake. Her real name is Jennifer, and she was planted there by Kwong Wai Leung. They are working on a secret plan to destroy the Fang family from the inside.

A Fatal Car Crash
Fang Yangtian is rushing to meet Lin Cheng. While driving, he suddenly gets dizzy and his nose starts bleeding uncontrollably. He loses control of the car and crashes, getting knocked unconscious.
Lin Cheng is waiting for him and getting worried. She calls his phone over and over, but there's no answer. After a while, Fang Yangtian wakes up. He stumbles out of the car and is almost hit by a truck. Injured and bleeding, he starts walking in Lin Cheng's direction.
A Tragic Goodbye
At the same time, Lin Cheng is so worried that she starts running toward him. They almost miss each other in the chaos. But then, she hears the sound of the familiar music box. It makes her turn around, and she finally sees Fang Yangtian, covered in blood. He tries to tell her his final wishes, but he dies in her arms before he can finish his sentence.
One Month Later: The Power Struggle Begins
The story jumps forward one month after Fang Yangtian's death. Fang Xueli and Fang Xueqin are now trying to run the company.
A Shady Business Deal
A major point of conflict is a new resort project with a Mrs. Li and other investors. Lin Cheng and Gao Shen have looked into it. They want to pause the company's involvement. They point out that while the partners claim to be worth billions, some of them have no corporate records. Others are even on blacklists in China. They believe it's an obvious scam.
But Fang Xueli and Fang Xueqin disagree. They argue that they have a long history with Mrs. Li and trust her. They want to let the board of directors vote on whether to cancel the project.
The Boardroom Coup
Old Mrs. Fang steps in. She tells Lin Cheng she should resign as chairman because of her "poor health." She wants her to rest at home and let the two brothers handle everything. Lin Cheng refuses. She knows Fang Yangtian wanted her to stay, and she won't give up his legacy.
Gao Shen decides to fly to Singapore to handle things, telling Lin Cheng to hold down the fort. This was a mistake. In the board meeting, Fang Xueli lies. He claims Lin Cheng and Gao Shen are shelving the project for personal reasons. The board members are furious and turn on Lin Cheng. Kwong Wai Leung uses the moment to push the board to fire her as chairman.
Just as they are about to vote, Gao Shen joins via video call. As the executor of the trust, he refuses to allow her removal. He buys them some time to investigate the project properly. The board has no choice but to agree.
Family Drama and a Final Betrayal
The family issues and backstabbing only get more intense. Kwong Wai Leung secretly plots to get his hands on some important files. He plans to make Lin Cheng "disappear" along with the documents.
A Surprise Pregnancy
Fang Xueli is still angry with Kwong Shan Tsuen over his illegitimate daughter, Jasmine. He sees Kwong Shan Tsuen celebrating Jasmine's birthday with Gao Shen and confronts her. During the argument, he accidentally pushes her down. They rush her to the hospital. There, they get shocking news. She's pregnant. Fang Xueli is stunned and overjoyed.
The New Will
That same night, a lawyer arrives at the Fang house with a new will. It turns out Fang Yangtian wrote it while he was being "treated" by the fake Dr. Ye. This new will changes everything. The trust executor is now a man named Jiang Huanqiu. The entire family is listed as beneficiaries and will receive an inheritance.
Everyone, that is, except for Lin Cheng. Her name has been completely removed from the will.
