Episode Summary
Han Kuilong is found dead, suffocated before being burned in a fire. Lin Qian publicly confesses to the murder, revealing he killed her family 20 years ago. At her trial, she exposes Da Gama with a secret recording. Da Gama is then killed, and Zheng Agen confesses to other crimes, framing Da Gama as the mastermind. Han Lie vows revenge on Lin Qian, while Yi Wei is manipulated into drug addiction in prison and a protest in the old district turns deadly.

A Fiery End
This episode kicks off with a bang. Literally.
Tang Xuan gets a gut feeling that Han Kuilong is about to skip town. She reports it, ready to finally bring him in. At the same time, his men get back to the pier cabin where he was hiding. They find it completely engulfed in flames. They know they can't face Han Lie after this. So they just run.
Han Lie has been trying to call Lin Qian with no luck. He knows something is very wrong. Just as he's panicking, Tang Xuan shows up asking Qin Yu for a warrant. She tells him straight up. Han Kuilong is the one who set the greenhouse fire.
By the time the police get to the pier, the fire is mostly out. Then they carry out a body. It's Han Kuilong. Han Lie just collapses. He can't believe his father is gone. He's convinced someone murdered him. When the cops ask where Lin Qian is, he has no idea. He's been looking for her, too.
The Interrogation
Tang Xuan brings Han Lie in for questioning. She starts poking at him. She suggests maybe someone wanted to take over his father's position. She's basically accusing him of killing his own dad. Han Lie completely loses it.
His reaction tells Tang Xuan everything. He isn't the killer. That leaves only one other person. Lin Qian.
The theory gets stronger when the autopsy report comes in. Han Kuilong wasn't killed by the fire. He was suffocated first. Tang Xuan immediately puts out an order to find Lin Qian. She gets home, exhausted, and there she is. Lin Qian is just waiting for her on her doorstep.
A Stunning Confession
After this, Tang Xuan goes to Qin Yu. She wants to team up. She knows Da Gama has to be connected to all of this.
Elsewhere, Tang Jia finds Han Lie grieving at the hospital. She can't hide her feelings anymore. She goes to him and comforts him. He looks at her and asks a painful question. If they weren't on opposite sides, could they have been together? She still pushes him away.
The next day, things get even crazier. Lin Qian disguises herself as a journalist. She gets access to Councilor Huang during a press event. Then, in front of all the cameras, she reveals who she is. She confesses to murdering Han Kuilong. She says she wants a formal trial to begin for his original crime, the arson.
She later tells Han Lie the whole truth. Han Kuilong was the man who murdered her parents and her little brother. For twenty years, she had no idea. She was in love with her family's killer. After she suffocated him, she accidentally knocked over a kerosene lamp and started the fire. Han Lie doesn't see justice. He only sees his dead father. He grits his teeth and promises her he will get his revenge.
The Courtroom and the Aftermath
Qin Yu is the judge for Lin Qian's trial. She gets on the stand and gives a heartbreaking account of watching the fire as a little girl. She talks about living with the killer for two decades. Then she plays her ace. She has a recording of a conversation between Da Gama and Han Kuilong. The entire court hears them discussing their crimes.
Da Gama makes a run for it. Zheng Agen conveniently offers to give him a ride. A little while later, Da Gama is found dead in the car.
Zheng Agen then walks right into the police station and surrenders. He confesses that Da Gama ordered him to have Shi Zhiyang killed. He even gives up the location of the actual killer. Tang Xuan leads the team to arrest him. For a second, she's about to kill the man herself to avenge her boyfriend. She manages to stop.
The official story is now clean. Da Gama was the mastermind behind everything, and he killed himself out of guilt. But Han Lie isn't buying it. He sends his men to intercept and kill Lin Qian.
New Problems Arise
Things are also getting bad in the prison. Yi Wei has an asthma attack. Another inmate hides his inhaler. Instead, he gives Yi Wei some kind of drug powder, telling him it will help. Yi Wei takes it and starts hallucinating about playing baseball with his parents. He's getting hooked.
Councilor Huang visits Qin Yu with some good news. He says if Yi Wei keeps up his good behavior, his sentence might be reduced. This makes Qin Yu incredibly happy. He decides he'll do whatever the councilor needs to get his son out sooner.
Back in the old district, the residents are protesting the new development. The media is all over it. Councilor Huang isn't worried. He sends his people in to deliberately provoke the protestors. It works perfectly. Da Niu gets angry and kills one of the development workers right in front of everyone.
