Spoiler Alert
This episode was a whole mess of back-alley deals, botched police raids, and family drama. Nobody is safe, and nobody is telling the whole truth.
The Temple, The Trap, and The Takedown
A Desperate Plea
The episode kicks off with Da Niu looking completely wrecked. He admits he was there to tear down a wall panel. He never meant to hurt anyone. He tries to piece together what happened. The only thing he clearly remembers is Ah Gui shoving the weapon into his hand. Then someone pushed him hard from behind, and he accidentally stabbed the victim. Tang Xuan brings Ah Gui in for questioning, but he denies everything. He’s not cracking.
While that's happening, Sha Sha is in serious trouble. Her father decided to sell their house. The sale requires Sha Sha’s signature to be official. The problem is, Qi Changrong has her. He even brought her two kids to her, so they're all together. But it's not a happy family reunion. They are basically prisoners under house arrest. Somehow, Sha Sha gets her hands on a phone. She manages to send a secret help signal to Qin Yu. He finally knows she's been taken by Qi Changrong.
The Insurance Scam
Qin Yu immediately starts working on a plan to get her out. He can't just go in guns blazing. So he comes up with a pretty clever lie. He finds Qi Changrong and tells him a story. He says Sha Sha's dead husband, Ah Wei, had a secret life insurance policy. Sha Sha is the beneficiary. She just needs to sign some papers to get the money.
Tang Xuan is in on the plan. She uses her skills to find the address where Sha Sha sent the text from. She also forges a convincing insurance contract for Qin Yu to use. But you can see she's starting to have doubts about Qin Yu. She's thinking about Cao Weier's death. She suspects Qin Yu might have had something to do with it.
The Raid Goes Sideways
Qin Yu heads up to the mountain hideout with some guys pretending to be from the insurance company. Tang Xuan and a SWAT team are hidden in the woods outside, waiting for the signal. The first part of the plan goes smoothly. Sha Sha signs the papers.
But then Qi Changrong decides to keep Qin Yu there. He's not letting him leave. Things get even worse. One of the "insurance" guys accidentally drops his listening device. Their cover is completely blown. The police outside realize they have to move in now.
Suddenly, a gunshot goes off inside the house. Tang Xuan panics and rushes in. She finds Qi Changrong dead on the floor. Qin Yu is on the ground nearby, looking like he's in a lot of pain.
The Messy Aftermath
Who Pulled the Trigger?
Now we have two very different stories about what just happened.
Sha Sha is a nervous wreck. She tells the police she did it. She says Qi Changrong and Qin Yu were fighting. Qi Changrong hit his head and fell. But he got back up and was about to kill Qin Yu. Sha Sha says she acted on instinct to protect Qin Yu and killed Qi Changrong.
Qin Yu’s story is much simpler. He claims Qi Changrong knocked him out cold. He says he doesn't remember anything that happened after that. So, one of them is lying. Or maybe they both are.
Han Lie's Revenge Heats Up
Han Lie pays Qin Yu a visit. He tells him to enjoy this time with his family. He says they don't have much of it left. It’s a clear threat.
We also learn a devastating secret. Qin Yu has no idea his son, Yiwei, is now addicted to drugs. Han Lie is behind it all. He’s just sitting back, watching Qin Yu’s life fall apart. He’s enjoying his revenge. Yiwei gets home from jail. The withdrawal hits him hard. He locks himself in his room, trying to fight it.
The Old District Fight Isn't Over
A Switcheroo
The side plot with the old district is still going on. The elders hired a good lawyer named Luo Wen to save the Great King Temple from developers. The court has agreed to hear their case.
Councilor Huang is furious. He storms into the courthouse and confronts Qin Yu about it. Later, Huang meets with Qin Yu again. He casually points to a drawer. He's signaling that the land deed for the old district is inside. This was a huge mistake. When Huang steps out for a minute, Qin Yu walks over to the drawer. He swaps the real deed with a fake one.
A Win for the Little Guy
With the real deed secured, Qin Yu makes his move. He officially rejects the development plan. He states the reason is that the local villagers never gave their consent. The people of the old district win their case. Councilor Huang is absolutely livid. His entire plan is ruined.
The episode wraps up with two intense scenes. Han Lie has the two men who helped Han Kuilong escape captured. He kills them without a second thought. At the same time, Qin Yu walks in on his son, Yiwei, using drugs. Qin Yu isn't angry. He just looks heartbroken. He helps his son to bed and seems determined to help him get clean.
